Re: Gold sink for endgame players

I’ve always been a fan of fashion as a fair distinguished between wealthier and less wealthy toons.
I think any easy gold sink would be to simply put in fashion that is bought through gold rather than plat.

One of the main reasons the CH economy inflated so much is that EG gameplay once relied on lux purchases and fash purchases from gold shops, this isn’t the case anymore as everything is plat based.

A gold sink needs to have desired content in order to work as a gold sink.

I don't think fashion would work, unless it was extremely over the top(and even then that wouldn't last forever because everyone would eventually get it), because a ton of good fashion exists already.

Considering the fact that I have 400 million gold on lugh(pretty much out of circulation), and it's still running just fine, we have a massive issue here that is probably even more present in other servers.

Decent event lux and event luxmounts really was what kept everything normal in the old days. A return to that would likely solve our problems, give outsiders on dom clan worlds hope, reduce grinding, and more. That isn't saying it should completely overthrow raid gear though, but it should be roughly 80-90%, focused on different things, or on uncommon slots. The cost would also have to be much higher then old lux(but still worth buying), to adjust for inflation.
World - Lugh
Furyion - 192 Ice Mage
Stonelord - 100 PvP Warrior
Lavalord - 60 PvP Warrior
Keepin' it old school.

Merchers will always have the ability to destroy an entire servers economy overnight if they wish, just a fact. Irl the market is much larger, not to mention the supposed sinks of taxes and costs of living.
So long as fashion is temporarily available it should justify high prices. Say 5m for a white chest piece. After a season the fash gets added to chests as Aeon with low drop rates.
