Re: Pets and Minions
#12I'd prefer if pets looked different than existing mobs. Smaller would also be preferable, or else groups will get very crowded and targeting intended mobs and players will become a huge pain.If pets were introduced, what kind of pets would people like to see?
Would you rather they be pets like rabbits, cats, dogs etc., or more along the line of wolves, bears etc.?

Re: Pets and Minions
#14First of all, I think pets and mounts should be two different items and not mingled togther.
Pets should be small in size so that they do not complicate targeteing/ selecting, for sure.
Pets should be creatures & not humans (i.e. no mini Druids or Connacts)
I'm not in favor of being able to level pets, adjust stats to pets - I think that makes it too complicated
Pets should be available to all & should provide a single type of bonus. Here are some examples:
Fairy would provide a modest amount of Healing over time
Mini Dragon would provide added fire damage over time
Mini Eye would provide added damage over time with a chance of freezing enemy
Perhaps they could have a primary effect & then a secondary skill/ benefit that happens rarely?
This idea could be expanded upon so that OTM offers pets in Lux shop with multiple abilities that cost MORE gold.

Re: Pets and Minions
#15Macho pets, like the wolves, bears, boars, dragons etc.. not cutsie cuddly furry bunnies and squirrells. Think along the lines of what would the romans put into a gladitorial arena if they had it? In real life throughout medieval europe they had war dogs, pet wolves and bears, for the arenas they would inport all sorts of fierce creatures from africa and asia such as rhinos, hyenas, elephants, etc..
Yeah...I was gullible. I actually thought the horse photos where a tease of things to come. lol However, I do think it is a good idea to have mounts such as horses, camels, elephants, .. or whatever.

#16Not pets...familiars. For non-mage versions, like G.R.R. Martin's wolves.

#17My input is there should be no pets, they are just annoying things to have.
Mount's on the other hand is massive +1 for me.
There has been a horse seller for as long as I was playing.
Give them upgradable armour that stacks with your own armour.
Give them slots to add items to to make you as a whole stronger.
Give them levels, and stats so you can level than up.
Personally only make 1 price of horse, 500k or so, but I assume you are going to have to make different priced ones.
But I don't think you will want to have any kind of mount except the horse at this stage, it would be pretty poor if people could ride about on eyes or trees etc.
After all we are humans in the game so give us just horses please.

I highly disagree! Ive played many MMOs over the years, WoW, Everquest, Aoc, Guild wars, and many many more It has always been the Pet/ranger classes that have appealed to me the most. Leveling up my pets was one of the most enjoyable aspects of these games for me. The pets add a certain depth and intrigue to a game, they become a part of your character. Obviously I'm not alone in feeling this way as is apparhent with the wide success of the pets in all of the aforementioned games I listed. I think they would be a welcome addition to CH.

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Re: Pets and Minions
#20I think it could be nice to have a scary werevolf like in a song of ice and fire accompany you in battles.
But we dont want a celtic heroes to be a circus.
So these special "pets" should be rare and extremely hard to acquire :
1 : set a level level rec like 150 minimum
2 : set the starting quest to acquire the werevolf mastering ability in a new area after otherworld
3 : recquire some special items you could only get from crafting to succed a very difficult quest
4 : after acquiring the skills, then you could buy one werewolf from a special apc. This need to be a huge price in gems and gold.
After acquiring your werewolf :
1 : it would also need a slow leveling, they would become progressivly huge and powerful. In a fight they could die, respawning with you if you use idols, anyway dying with you if youndie, as werewolves are psycholinked lol to their masters.
2 : you would be able to equip them with armors also from crafting (connact armors, dragons scales...)
