Yeah I think this will be a horrible change and make the game a lot less fun. A decent tank and healer can hold most bosses forever and this is what this game will become.

I don't understand how admin says this just adds another dynamic because that is untrue, it changes the dynamic completly from DPS being important to DPS not mattering at all. Essentially a good tank and healer can hold Falgren all day long and if anyone wants him to have a chance of spawning again they would have to kill falgren for those holding with no chance of drops.

Perhaps a better idea than target lock would be first hit makes it so they have to deal less dps for kill, like KSers have to deal 61% to successfully KS and the first claim group only has to deal 41%% to retain kill.

This discourages KSing but keeps DPS important and keeps competition alive.

How would FFA in boss fights work?

Idk about other worlds, but Rhiannon has a set FFA rule for bosses, but with the target lock, it might completely screw it up.
I will occasionly browse the forums, but for the most part im done.

I thought MMO meant Massive Multiplayer Online. I think it means just a lot of people playing a game at the same time not a first person type game. You may interpret it that way but it still just means multiple people on one game at any time.

This was why I suggested ages ago that tanks and healers should count towards the win even though they are doing little to no damage, that way the ksing would be reduced.

In terms of genuine clan v clan competition, personally I think there is going to be more competition and more tactics, because now you have to decide whether to engage earlier than you would like to get a lock, but then risk getting wiped because you don't have enough people yet, vs waiting and potentially losing the boss to someone who engages earlier.

It just adds an extra dimension to the competitive aspect, now it's not 100% just dps, it's now also going to be how good is your tank, healers etc.
Actually admin, i have a suggestion for those people that are not very strong and i dont like that they keep complaining about ksing, make a separate server for them, which encourages no ksing, and is implemented in the game that ksing is unavailable. Let us see if this server actually triumphs, i know it will suck, but just a suggestion to the peopl who are weaker in comparison to the people who work their butts off so that they can exactly what they want to do. Yes, ksing is frowned upon, and is not encouraged by me and i hope not encouraged by anyone, but as of now: i will be very mad if no ksing is implemented in the game. This is a very silly step for the game. No use of playing if the demands are met from a bunch of people that don't even know how to play.

This is not cyber-bullying as others say, but rather, criticism or suggestions and opinions.

I for one think that this is an inovative idea: but if you think about the bigger picture, you just need a clan that needs boss drops and get one group with a bunch of dps and a tank and a healer, then another person outside of the group to hit the mob once or twice to activate this idea of yours. Then bosses would be very easy to kill and for easy boss drops for the clan or even for yourself. Just need a tank and a healer not in the same group, healer hits the boss once or twice then the tank finishes it off.

What do you class as weak? I can personally out DPS almost anyone on Rhiannon (not ment to be bragging just getting my point across.. These braggers on forums do my head in), wont stop my clan losing bosses to others with more dps. This game needs balance, not pure DPS and this lock will promote balance. By the way I have spent around £50 on plat but foolishly just buy little bundles for little things i need rather than big bundles, so have actually recieved very little plat. So as a response, yes I have worked my butt off and yes, me and my clan can still be ksed and lose out on bosses that we tank and heal on..
Its funny how you say this, but ironically what i am going to say is, level some more. If your mad that people are ksing, level some more! Once you reach a cap of 150, stop trying to level and help your clanmates to level and become stronger. Anything else after 150 is irrelevant.

Who remebers update 2 when ksing ment diffrent , when you die you lost all your dps points ....(same as if you dced)
They OTM changed it so you keep you dps point after you die , how many ppl were tripin on forums ? ... Alot

This traget lock will be ok on lvling mobs ....
On bosses same competion just diffrent style ....
It won't be dps wins ,now players will be more tankish + evey class stunning skills maxed like roots/freeze,bolas ,shield

Just diffrent style competion
Adapt to the game .... Like all did in update 3

Now if you loss a boss fight (in ks war) others "took your kill"
After this lock if you loss him its your fault or blame clan lol ,cant start too early ....

To those who clam it will ruin game or no point lvling past 150 ....
How many quit due to ks.... And how many you think will "quit" to this lock ....
After lock brookie didnt ks me was my fault couldn't hold him must go lvl .....
