Prior to what some people are making it out to be, I am a member of the Avalon clan on Morrigan, I'm not in the beta, and no they don't share what's going on in it so I got no clue how Beta's going. That said I have no clue what's going on in terms of testing classes and changes to them.

I know before Beta officially began there were overly dramatic threads out to make it seem like DPS class such as Rogue were broken and casters were overpowered. I read another thread talking about beta testing and one today mentioning nerfing of mages. I got no clue why this was mentioned or what they're testing in beta. But please don't use overly dramatic situations as the basis for changing classes especially casters.

I see absolutely NO reason to nerf mages the way they are. Mages now are playable. Sure a mage can beat other dps classes in CERTAIN situations. But if anything fix what's wrong with the other classes. Rogue has skills that are broken? Fix them. Fix what's wrong with the rogue skills. Don't nerf a mage because somethings wrong with a rogue. Fix the rogue class.

I noticed a few patches ago they made changes to accuracy and hit percentage of a caster's spells. As a 150+ mage, missing multiple times on Aggragoth? Okay. Maybe. 8 times a firebolt misses in a row? That makes no sense. Maybe a 130 and under mage trying a firebolt on Aggragoth should miss that many times, but a mage that's over the level of the boss? Don't get it. And to be missing multiple times in a row on a minor boss or mob that you have a 100+ level advantage over? I don't see the sense in that but yes it happens in game. It's what we put up with though. No problem. Fix it or don't fix it I'm used to it by now.

But with stuff like the spell hit accuracy going on, to further nerf us? IF that's what's being considered. I see no sense in it. And YES I'm worried it would affect how playable a mage would be in a day to day normal build. And PLEASE tell me there's a 150+ mage in beta making sure we're still playable if they are considering changes.
I'm in beta and am a lvl 155 mage that I've played daily for 8 hours a day for over a year.
What has been brought up with the whole Avalon thing has nothing to do with classes at all.
Class changes are the last thing on the list for this update as no major changes are being implemented into the game skill wise.
This had to deal with something that effects everyone that plays the game and we were simply saying that having so many people from the same clan might taint the beta in regards of what people actually want.
Then I had every member in Avalon on beta gang rape me for defending myself when another forum user talked down to me when stating how I feel on the change.
As I said earlier on another post and since it is in live game I can say it as it doesn't break the NDA.
I did find a problem with the mage fire cloak dmg not dropping off on higher lvl mobs like the other spells do, meaning a lvl 100 mage with a fire cloak that does 300 dmg will always do 300 dmg even on 150 lvl mobs where as your fire bolt would do roughly 50 dmg.

To my knowledge theirs been no plans to nerf mage, nor should their be. They're a great class as they are.

I also, however, don't believe Mages need any type of boost. I don't see a problem in energy either as Sacrifice is a great skill and I don't even need to use Energy Boost (although my Mage is only 126 and I know theirs a huge difference between 126 and 150).

In terms of missing skill hits on aggy, it's no different to melee classes missing multiple autos in a row. Yes 8 in a row is a bit extreme but aggy's resists, and other stats alike are next to none. Just wondering if you miss these amount of spells on any other bosses/mobs? I also miss a fair amount of the skills I do bother to use when on Rogue, but I don't notice a difference on Mage other than casting more skills which means more skills that have a chance to be evaded. The thing is when you have something like that in your head, you don't take into account the amount that actually land.

In terms of Rogues though, I still love mine and don't agree with 3/4 of the whining that I've seen on the forums about the class, but I do agree they need a bit of fixing, skills especially.

Maybe making another skill for Rogue, like smoke bomb but reduces the Evasions instead of Defence. I'd personally like Smoke Bomb to reduce a mob/bosses evasions as well as their defence but some may class that as overpowered.

I do have a mage lvl 129 and lure mage lvl 105 but is not my main class so I dont give my opinon because he is build around other chars to complete them so I cant force what the class does for me to another 1000s of players between the 2 mages i can said i have all skills .

I prefer energy boost over sacriface because sacriface takes hp out the e-shields so technically they cancel each other.

But i do respect players who use it as main class they have more experience the ocassional alt players. Its not smae been a tourist the live there.

Personally, I always level my Mage with a Druid so the sacrifice thing is never a problem for me and the druid never runs out of energy either. Theirs also a druid at EVERY boss fight, so it is not a problem their either. I run with about 2k hp which gives a druid plenty of time to heal, especially with a good howling wind.

My feedback of mage comes as a DPS spell-caster rather than a support mage as I've always been DPS for levelling and just go support mage for bosses or when I'm having a break from levelling.

I think of my Mage as a 2nd Main rather than an Alt, although completely understand that people that have been playing a mage main for a year or so have much, much more valuable feedback to give.

You need to be careful of what you accuse others of doing to you. I have never said one thing to you...ever. That being said you have no idea what its like to be in a real clan. My suggestion is you remove the post i quoted and apologize for the two accusations you blame on clan Avalon.
