Re: Sometimes I hate Disc Frags (Greed)

in my clan no one really fights for frags. though i feel frustrated when a level 40 and under gets a frag just because there in my clan
Well I have to say that our current clan is wonderful about frags. I have seen so much generosity and it amazes me. Lots of people forgoing their warden if it makes sense for another player to get a certain item like a bow or armor for a tank or rogue. But it was greed and begging that tore up the first clan which I started and was a part of. You can see how Drizzt feels about this. This problem has basically made him back off CH maybe permanently. Drizzt was a wonderfully generous player and a good friend. It's a shame that it had to come to that.

Basically our new clan was handpicked and is very exclusive, but we also group with other clans and sometimes with lower level groups. I quite often will heal for another clan group that does not have a druid. My only stipulation is that I will not use idols for the other group. This is because there is a big chance that the group will fail even if I do use an idol. I want to save my idols for when it is necessary to win.

Well in my world, Rosmerta, basically only two clans who are capable of getting fragments are Brotherhood and Epic, not too sure about Brotherhood, but I think Epic stockpiles fragments for the clan and have an order that people get warden armor which IMO has worked nicely for then albeit the very few that complain.

Hey Raven,

In some respects I do agree with you on how the rules only work somewhat. I'm going to give some info in this post which hopefully may help some clans experiencing issues.
Expectations of players receiving the best armor in the game when they are level 75 or below in my mind shows an unrealistic expectation. It's appropriate that someone be in the top 25% or so of levels prior to receiving the best gear in the game. But, I have experienced working through farming the catacombs armor sets which many people feel no need to do anymore. I think this makes a different expectation level. - Nasim
In our clan one thing that has really helped people to NOT feel cheated is when they log in and receive a piece of gear even though they haven't done a boss recently. Clansman are working for them while they are offline. That really shows that the system is working for everyone.
Would you feel cheated having given up your fragments to log in and find you are given a warden wep even though you haven't fought the druid once in the last 5 days? Or when you get warden legs when you haven't received a disc drop except a moon in a week?
Granted we have a few semi unique aspects to our clan that allows it to work well, I've listed them below in case they can be helpful to anyone out there. Clan leaders may want to consider them a little if you are having trouble with fragment drops causing issues in your clan:

1. Almost all members have been in clan for a very long time & Everyone gets along very well. - Some of the newer people we invited recently felt cheated when they didn't get gear after a few days. The rest who have been doing this since discs started dropping understand that patience pays off. I polled in clan last night and didn't receive any negative feedback on how the disc system has worked out.
2. We worked it out prior to getting too far down the road into frag drops
3. All of our high level guys still do bosses anytime they are online to help the lower level guys.
4. We only have 30 people in our clan. All 30 are listed as active but quite a few of them are alts.
5. We have a very high level of trust in clan. I've been able to give everyone the chieftain achievement by making them leader for a minute and they make me leader back. I think very few clan leaders are able to have that amount of trust in all of their members. Any of them could have kicked me out and kept the clan for themselves if they wanted to. I would contend that the people in my clan are the best people, not players, in the game.(yes yes I know this is only my opinion and there are many good people who play)
6. We don't sell disc drops. At all. Ever. We might someday, if people want to pay a price that is worthwhile, but it wont be while we have clansmen needing those discs.

At this point we only have like 5 people left that we have to gear. Clans with much larger numbers of people are having trouble but it will likely balance out somewhat in PVP. With our 30 person clan if 10 people are online at a time it's a busy night! When we meet up with a large clan in pvp we are going to have 10 people going against 50 or more. Chances are that even though pound for pound we are better leveled and geared simple numbers will prevail. I do hope that this is something that admin balances out somehow though because if not people will simply create temporary clans for pvp and combine forces so it will end up just being server on server pvp. Which would be a cool type of pvp to have but shouldn't be the only type of clan pvp out there.

Wow Nasim! I really appreciate your post. I guess after playing on a few worlds in the biggest and most powerful clans I have seen the negative effect of frags so my outlook is a more geared towards those experiences.

Your post does give me hope, and hopefully will help others out there. The current clan that I am in now is very much like yous in numbers. Also IMHO I would contend that the people in my clan are the best people, not players, in the game as well :D Without a doubt I believe everyone in our clan can be trusted as well. It was just that we had to learn a hard lesson which involved greed and frags and have only recently built this new clan. We also lost a wonderful player because of this! I know that we will do well because of the people involved, but your posts give me hope that the small tight nit group can actually prevail and do very well. At the moment we are the main clan that can get frags on our world but are not able to farm them constantly because of personnel.

As far as PVP goes we haven't really discussed it seriously. I'm not sure all our members like the idea of PVP. Maybe if it comes out our two clans can team up to form a super clan

Thanks so much for your posts!

How about have dice that you roll, everyone has dice and when you kill a boss and an item drops, then everyone has the option to roll on the item.. That way if there are a group of 6 and 3 have all the discs and items they need, but the other 3 don't.. Then only those 3 would choose to roll, that way if one of the other ones would have gotten it and didn't need it he wouldn't have to make the choice of who to give it to..

I don't think lv40s would just give away their drop

If they already got the drop then they would, or they would be kicked out of the group and clan for the next time if they decide to be greedy... Or hey if all 6 don't have the drop then they can all roll the dice... Plus it's better if people actually see the number they role... The first guy rolls a 90.... The others are like... Wow.. Do I even try now... Lol.. Or the first guy rolls a 1 and everyone's like yay.... You get what I'm talkin about?

Yeh I get what you mean, but I don't really understand the use of this gadget to be honest.. Because in some terms, we can say that there is already a dice roll (that we can't see) when the drop falls.

And if it somehow decreases the game performance, I'm totally against it!
