Re: Farming for profit or misery?

The issue is not helping low levels that need a hand , I'm all for that, the issue is the players that stay at those levels and seemingly need each boss 50 times for their quests. Yea being selfless and helping people is nice , talking about how nice and helpful you are is not .

Maybe i am the weirdest player but i don't really camp for profit or farm for it much. I seldom go to Falgren and if i do i give the dragon away free. I give away other things because for me it is not needed. Don't charge for pages, skills i come across and give rings if i have them. I don't boss fight as much because people would argue if there were 2 groups there. I use to go to like Fellfire and tell everyone group up i will log very end. This way 8 can get the quest and chance at a sun or whatever.U get one idiot coming along who asks is there room and i say yes join them.Once in goes Is she ksing or don't ks!! Yes because i am in need of a moon disc ( sarcasm). Once i logged for a group very very end on Starspell came back entire group dead.I kill the Tempest cloud give out wands,I give out items needed for armor because if it betters a players gear why not.I try to help others on Ragnor and 3 times automatically assumed i will ks. One who didn't even know i don't go around ksing says to me.'If your going to ks me just kill me before the spawn, I know how u high lvls are".So i just wanna say not every low lvl is a 'noob'and not every high lvl are 'greedy'.I do see a lot of greed but one thing they need to remember is they were low once too.I have come across some really mean lower who automatically assume I must be greedy. So if i do get an item or try to look out for one it is usually for a friend or i choose someone random.
I respect both play styles. Normally if i come across a high level group i will help/ks them whichever it ends up being. If its a low level group and im not already grouped i usually help them.

Ffs , I cant give an opinion ? When you talk about how helpful and nice you are , in my opinion you lessen the good deeds you do . in my experience , those that talk about all the good they do , usually end up doing bad . Praise from others is far more telling than praising yourself .

Was your comment needed ? +1 and a snooty comment on my post helped this thread tremendously .

Yes I'm sure someone said it, but if you hit the mob and it dies without resetting, regardless of your group affiliation you should get the quest completed. Drops should go to the group/person that did the most damage though. But if that drop is a quest reward, everyone that hit the mob should get it. No sense in level 130 players still yet to complete a level 60 quest with the current system. It is ridiculous.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

I'm a nub and I don't see much point to the game if you can't farm bosses for profit. The game is set up so if you give out stuff and help 100% of the time you lose to players who keep good items and farm for gold.

That said they should do a better job separating quest items from profitable bosses. The lower the level quest the more they should be separate. Make the rems/tabs/disks bound for example. Make SV alt bosses for quest that drop nothing. Quest bosses should drop no gold. Etc... Perhaps even have a server wide vote each month (min lvl of 20 maybe or one vote per device ID) for the most generous person and give them a prize!

But if the game turns into a nanny state where it isn't possible to act badly I'm quitting. It's acting good when players COULD act badly that makes them great. Without the ability to create drama the game gets boring fast. It's a balance between these things IMO.
