you have shatter now...But for melee classes that added damage is resisted and on mobs your level you only hit around the range of half of your damage on mobs around your level unless you have lures. But I agree that focus should add a bit more towards skills

Comparing shatter to lures is like comparing a Hyundai to a Rolls Royce.

Re: The Focus Plateau
#14Mages can use dex too, you know... Just saying
On a side note, why don't mages stack a bit of vitality? They are pretty fragile and could use an alternative to energy shield. Maybe not replace the skill, but survive longer while its down at least. Think about it. And I didn't say the system shouldn't get a tweak... In fact, I mentioned that it would be nice.

Even if they do pump vit , that's still only 2 of 4 stats needed to be effective , where non caster class requires 3 stats to be effective.

And shatter is temporary and way too short in pve requires a cooldown , lures are long lasting and can be recast long before they run out.
Re: The Focus Plateau
#17I've tried a vit heavy build and 50/50 the loss of dps means autos kill you before you can recast damage skills on 2 stars same level as you most effective build ive found is extremely focus heavy giving yourself just over 2 k hp when combined with energy shield as that provides enough damage output to kill a 2 star before you die and then you have long wait for recharge ive been fast traveling back to tavern to help the process even though i have 80 per tick regen kit and about 100 sigals

Re: The Focus Plateau
#18I run a druid using dex while solo leveling because of the constant interrupts I get for my spell casting. I also use a bunch of vit because I don't like to get one shotted.Mages can use dex too, you know... Just saying

The reason why I believe that mages and druids don't typically invest in dex or vitality is that there is no incentive to do so for any skills. When warriors invest in vitality they get a bonus to defensive stance, shield wall, etc... When warriors put points in strength they get a bonus to pummel, giant swing, frenzy, etc... When mages and druids invest in strength or vitality they get no bonus to any skills. This is why you see so many full focus builds for mages and druids. If vit/dex/str gave mages and druids a skill bonus, instead of all skills being linked to focus, you would see a greater variation of druid and mage builds. IMO since all classes need points in focus, that all classes should have focus based skills.
In conclusion, I think it would benefit every class if each class had some skills tied to each stat. Warriors should have some focus based skills; Druids should have some dex based skills; and so on and so on.. Doing this would allow for greater variations in character builds.

#20yes it lasts for ten seconds -.-
and warriors CANNOT use every stat
focus and dex are pretty much useless for us
maybe some people think dex a bit useful but i had a hundred or so awhile ago when i was like lvl 65 and rebirthed with no points in dex and noticed no difference in how often my attacks were hitting
and as far as my knowledge goes...there is NOT FOCUS PLATEAU
