I hope everyone realises that most christain holidays, were placed on celtic and other faith holidays in order to make conversion of the people easier...
Actually, some one came up with the idea to celebrate this Christian holiday, adding in a little more flavour to it.

Also, many adapt to Christian holidays( example, Jesus was born waay before the idea of santa Claus)

I would assume a forum moderator would know better then bringing a Religious discussion of another thread/topic...... :roll:


Btw, if you dont believe in God then dont celebrate Easter and Christmas. Watch the first Mr.Hankey episode of South Park...You may learn a little bit about it :lol:

As with most Christian holidays, people have gradually changed the spirit of that holiday to completely different from what it had been. For instance, people used to say merry christmas all the time during December, now they say happy holidays, because they don't like saying CHRISTmas. Also the focus during christmas is gradually changing from the birth of Christ, to the giving and receiving of gifts, and Santa Claus.

Easter is just as bad, instead of focusing on the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, people try to convince others that it is all about candy, eggs and bunnies. Its sad...

Also, people who don't believe in God can celebrate Easter and Christmas, but they just never understand the reason those holidays are so popular, they just see the wall that humans built to prevent them from seeing God.

i was making an honest post about holidays, and yes it is true of many large religions that they would place their own events on holidays of other religions to aid in converting of those religions.

My point was to not bring topics of the religion discussion thread here.

That thread has a lot of negative posts, so I wouldnt like to see them here .
