I semi afk all the time. You need a rogue or warrior, both are excellent at afk farming. You need an afk build and afk gear.

Like the Above poster said the timeout is 10 min but this is just 6 taps per hour. While watching tv, working around the house, or driving, or out and about I just afk farm on a toon. Often at home on 6-8 simeltaneouly. I'm #s 1,3,4 in my world for most 4* kills on a rogue from it.

You don't need a ton of lux regen, you need a lot of vit and armor and some str. In fact with these new sets I've been able pull much of my regen off in favor of an iron set and a few hp sigils (about 30-50 on a lvl 100).

Surprisingly for farming at levels under about 140 rogues are best and warriors second due the the much better auto dps of rogues. However for the very hardest afk high level mob farming, like aggy wyverns, you need a warrior.

Back in Update 2, you could barely kill a mob in Crookback Hollow because it was camped so much. Rooms would have a minimum of 5-6 people in them at a time, most of them being afk. Killing King Grotspew back then was one of the most challenging things I've ever had to do in this game (except fighting off the boredom of grinding for levels nowadays).

Why do you think some of the older players are so damn rich. I remember being a complete nub in V2 and seeing luxed out players farming all day every day, they earned tens of thousands every night and in long hours of inactivity.

Farming>Buying plat/Merching back when log timer wasn't in place.
Its not as profitable as you imagine it to be.

While afking areas like Crookback Hollow would not extremely profitable nowadays, it is money gained for not doing anything. Say someone makes 5 gold a kill, with a mob respawning every minute. That's 300 gold an hour. Over the course of a day, that's 7,200 gold, not counting drops. While that may not seem like a lot, it adds up fast. In a week a person could make 50k for doing nothing. If someone had multiple devices, that number would be multiplied even more. Also, note that the old world economies were not as inflated as they are today, so that would have been a lot of money back then.

The best spos to afk farm in update 2 were the catacombs since 3-5 mobs can aggro you. While the stonevale mobs may drop more gold, they're too far apart so you really just afk-kill one mob.
I tried it for a few times and best I got was like 2k overnight, which is a nice amount back in the day. 100k lux items were considered VERY EXPENSIVE - hence why golden camo charms weren't quite popular since no one would shell out 100k for a seemingly useless item.

The best feature of being able to afk was you can train your weapon abilities. my mage had max wand and novelty before they put in the anti-afk timer.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who crave closure

A business is more profitable if they don't gouge and piss off customers.

Ah the good old days. Back before xp lix was popular, and when multi-boxing was frowned upon. Glitching Shivercowl on the Catacomb stairs and praying that a noob wouldn't run through and wreck it. My favorite afk spot was Disciple Ducarious' room, because the Rotsmashers would drop gems. I put on a pumpkin hat and a gold growth charm to amuse the noobs that came by.

My favorite semi-afk leveling spot was in stonevale at the clump of trees on the hill by Felfire. Bahobane Sidhe would spawn there, and frostroot elders that would drop ancient weapons. If I couldn't get that, I would afk at the tree north of Starspell and kill those two druids. Otherworld Harbingers used to spawn regularly there. Back then they didn't drop crappy book pages.

Its a good idea, it used to be a widespread practice, however otm introduced the inactivity log function, so unless you make an auto touch machine(yes its a real thing) completly afk farmers are rather pointless
how would one make such a device?
That would be considered botting as far as I know.

There are apps that allow you to set up an automated touch routine, this is botting and you can usually tell if a person is botting by telling if they are moving in the same direction every now and then or using the same skills always at the same time as before in the same order. But I think if you legit used a real life machine, like a little brush swiping your screen every 10 minutes, it would be considered not-botting and there wouldn't be any evidence it isn't you touching the screen anyways.
