That's not how the gold rankings worked anyway. It didn't show how much gold you currently have, it showed the most gold you have ever had at one point.

It was a begging tool used by noobs and was extremely annoying.

No he isn't the richest lol, 20m gold is cute sure. I could have 20m+ gold if I sold all my stuff and used what he does.

I think Purple knew that when she gave the example… Person A in the conversation above is the beggar/noob that doesn't know the underlined fact.

Person B had 5.5 mil gold at one point, but no longer has that much. Thus, the "Sorry I'm broke."

Purple's example shows how players who have acquired lots of gold at some point will get begged by others for the rest of their lives (<-- figuratively), regardless of how much gold they actually have at any given moment.

That is, until the gold rankings were removed.

Glad the Gold ranks are gone. (I never had 5 million 2011 though. About enough to get a golden chief helm) lol.

Hmm. So people who support the game more than others, even if it isn't their aim to support the company, shouldn't get any recognition. We should really just make it so no one can buy plat since non-plat buying makes you such a prestige rank.
