Re: Bench Warmer Class?

i would also have to disagree to me a druid is the most important class and in epona they are the ones first invited to the group
Theres nothing to disagree or agree upon its an opinioted question that no one seams to be answering....

What do you feel is the least needed class in the game and why? (Its not do you feel druids are the least needed class?)
Name:HoorDee/DrPeppers
Class:(Balor) Warrior(Rosmerta)Druid
Level:170/140

hehehe

Lets look at some situations. its prime time and two groups want a boss. Who gets the spots? First warriors and rogues. Then rangers. If the unlucky group has an extra spot its a mage. If the group is really hurting for ppl a druid may slip in. Both mage spells like cloak can be cast outside the group as well as druid spells like heal. So druid here is at the very bottom of the group invite list.

Another situation where there is no competition. Form a group without using your potions. you would group the warrior, rogue, and druid/ranger.

I know I'm on a different world, but usually we tend to get at least one of each class when we can. We tend to have two druid, two dps, one tank, and a mage. The last spot goes to whoever is the highest lvl, or whoever needs for the quest. There's only been one situation when I've asked someone to leave the group though, and that was because it was a lvl 53 in our clan who didn't do damage, who needed to be replaced by a lvl 83 ranger for heals and dps. We were fighting Bladewing I believe.

I agree, that druids are atm the most uneeded class. And the only class that can be fully replaced by potions. (See my topic: Druids unneeded (discussion) in de class forum)

For my opinion the buffs and heals from a druid should be much better than the potions. Now its the other way, potions are much better then druids...

There has to change something

I mean with all due respect we need druids. However something Nodnarb said is true for me and really important as well - we heal you and keep you alive, but nobody gives us credit. We are the reasons that at the moment you can actually manage to kill Deadroot and other lvl 105 tomatoe bosses. we are an essesential class, and the only way it would ever be possible to remove them from the game completely was if there were a totally re-thought and newly developed class like a priest.

Another case and point how we all play the same game, but totally different servers make totally different incarnations of it.

On Arawn I would easily say that Druids are super important, super important. And yeah I would also say that all classes are needed except for DPS warriors. For them we may have an overabundance at times.

The funniest thing about this thread though, is that it's started by a beta tester who has seen the new things coming to Druids. And is still starting a Druid riot out here... :?:  :?:

I simply don't understand, at all.

The importance/popularity of druids depends on your server population dynamics, your play style, and how deep your collective pockets are (or your tank's pockets at least). But I would never relegate them to 'benchwarmer' status.

The potions work better than druids in many ways BUT they have one SERIOUS drawback... THEY COST MONEY. If someone is willing to pour their hard-earned real-life cash into the OneThumb coffers buying health and restoration pots, so be it! You are helping to ensure that the lights stay on around here, but personally, I would take one or two good druids any day over spending my money so frivolously. That being said, I have spent PLENTY of real life cash on this game, but mostly on other goodies. :D I imagine that even those people who spend money on potions MUST appreciate being able to conserve some pots for another day whenever there is a druid to assist.

In nodarbs defence, Tea, he simply posed a question to the masses and offered his personal opinion on it, he did not necessarily intend to start a Druid Uprising! LOL

Either way, I say druids are essential to my clan and to a healthy server even if they are underrated - I am not going to suggest which class or classes I would 'bench' in an effort to avert further rioting!!

It shouldnt depend on anyones pockets! But atm it does. That makes this game really akward.
I had situations where i grouped with a warrior who took down murwell bloodbinder and i healed.
(i grouped after he was already on it and i thought we make a bossfight group here)
My heals werent even close strong enough but his bar miracoulosly went up again and again.
He mustve used 50 pot in that fight. Then i got the drop: a dragon disc!
Akward! Before i could talk to him about it he logged (not a very chatty fellow anyway)

Point is it shouldnt be possibe to circumvent every rule in the game with money.
I noticed this creates lots of arguments and fights, too!
