Because the best gear is dropping from an event boss which is totally unfair for:To get the best gear, u need to kill raid bosses, this is a fact of all mmos, if u could just buy as good gear from the shop, what would be the point?
If you are inactive you are undeserving of the drops. If you are not in top clan, I can only feel sorry for you. But this topic is not about those issues. I do see the argument that the best drops should come from end game bosses. 1. The partially inactive players.
2. The "not-in-top-clan" players.
If it were dropping from a permanent boss, then I'd set my hopes up that one day, i could get the chance to kill him. However, i can't do the same with a transient event boss. So no, not sitting back here while others hoard it.
I agree there should be equally strong lux items for those who cant get strong items from endgame boss drops. But the biggest risk is this may render the endgame bosses not worth the time and effort and resources to kill. so there is a need to balance both.I disagree. Being inactive doesn't mean that when i come back, there should be a huge gap between me and the active players. Hence, make some equally strong luxury items.
The best gear should be earn't, in my opinion. Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG's) are social games. In order to succeed you need to co-operate and join an affective clan to get the best loot available. Some of the best MMORPG's and even the worst MMORPG's even have this system in place. I think this game should be no different.
What's stopping you, as a player from joining another clan upon a clan collapse, or unable to join the top tier clan. You can just as easily make a clan, strive at, or join an up and coming clan. MMORPG's are all about teamwork and co-operation to reach success. But it seems in this game, especially regarding lux it has made the some of the quest gear obsolete. Quest gear or drops, should far surpass buying gear from luxury shops. Where is the teamwork in that, it doesn't traditionally fit in the ideology of an MMO.
I have to say -1 to smelly, however your ideas have good intentions - luxury shops shouldn't make event gear or any quest obtained gear obsolete. I think quest gear, event gear and loot should have the most desirable stats like resistances, maybe even some Regen, armour boosts, skill boosts. And luxury should have its own set of stats, such as armour, physical resistances, heavy regen, stat boosts and exclusive skills . This may suit the needs if such a diverse group of players, and won't render any gear obsolete, because each type of gear wether it be earn't or brought is powerful in its own unique way.
