Rogues get a lot of kills because they are sheer DPS. They really dont do anything else aside from smoke bomb and expose weaknesses. If a ranger was stronger than a rogue in DPS, then there would be no reason to pick a rogue. It would be like asking a new player: Do you wanna play the class with the best damage and some utility and range or the class with the 2nd best damage?

Rangers have so much that rogues dont... BOLAS?!?! HELLO?!?!!!
And they have a great heal and range!!

In my opinion, many people who get the kill on a boss just aren't killing adds. As a druid, I love a good DPS class player that can keep adds from eating me!

I dont think a kill is fair, if not done by killing adds as well. Theres no pride in screwing ur clannies letting them do all adds while ur attacking boss only, just for the kill. Im a warrior, when I happen to get a kill even while doing adds (or if all adds are tanked) Im definitely happier that way.

For us our best ranger is a triple logger who tries to focus mostly on his mage and druid in the fight, as the ranger can pretty much stay semi-afk. He triple logs on 3 different roles, his ranger, his druid healing and buffing, his mage dpsing and luring, and still does adds on his mage.
Most kills go to our mages and rogues atm, but it depends on build. Im happy as long as the boss is killed.

Str build? Just curious as the best dps Rangers seem to be more str based auto with non dps skills like bolas. Just sharpen and steady.

Only one person here has a ranger with good enough gear for dex it seems.

Rangers have such crappy skills that you always have room for bolas.

I have, and. Nobody would want rogue if they had bad dps. yet rogues do deserve more dps than Rangers because they can't escape aoes
Rangers do need skill buffs hopefully floor 6 can bring this out

^Ur saying it as if someone has equal dps to rogues, then rogues have "bad" dps. Several classes should have equal dps and not compete on kill but generally just dish out more dps, each one of them should perform his dps differently and have a different way of playing, rangers from afar, rogues from the shadows, if u would actually care that much for 'survivability', u would ask rogues to do what they are supposed to do, play from the shadows, being sneaky and stealthy. Rogues simply dont care for anything as long as they get the kill.
