The problem is not level lock, the problem is that a lvl 220 player needs to kill hrung to update his gear because the drop tables are so bad or he needs to kill snorri to get his offhand because crown drops are so rare

So it's either otm fix one or two things here
1. Make new raid bosses at higher levels, make easier ways for ppl who leved to acquire crowns from snorri or even in extreme cases horns from sreng so they can complete dl and move foward

2. Get rid of target lock on high level bosses and let people fight for them fairly and yes that means ppl who use target lock as a crutch have to go level and have a fair fight

One sounds like a easier fix then the other. But that's up to otm both of these would fix some serious issues but which one is otm willing to accept and do is the question?

Major problem with this rationalization...

Level means very little in this game compared to gear. For example at 180-220 you would gain 40 ability points and 200 stat points along with weapon and other abilities which does give good advantages yes.

But without the necro or mordris weapons, without the hrung braces helms and skulls, without the 20 point ability rings, without dl mainhands and offhands or edl main/off you are going to lose each and every single last time forever with zero chance of winning, even though everyone is all lvl225.

I'm not sure what can be done to fix it beyond making the loot tables more realistic allowing people to move on to other newer content that hasn't even been released yet. Because few people will just quit since they can't level any more and its impolite to boss anymore.

Finally I'm pretty sick of "alts" in general. They are characters and you don't even really know who is behind them, nor should it matter. In a clan anyone that pulls weight and brings in loot should get the same fair share of that pie. Anyone that actually gets the job done gets the job done. Mains is an artificial construct that just incentivices lying, cheating and character sharing between people to get around the rules of "alts" while doing the same work as alte should be rewarded for.

Your alt argument is good and valid, but thats only in the case where the alt does its fair share of work in clan before getting its things. Just because a general made a rogue alt and leveled it to 170 doesnt mean it should get drops before the 180 rogue who had been in clan doing bosses and camping for a month. The alt arguments are valid because sometimes clan follow the example i just brought up. But in cases where the alts do as much as any other main, there is no reason the alt shouldnt get its gear just because its an alt

From the comments 3 things might be needed

1) Get rid of the lock for Quest Bosses

2) The loot tables and spawn times need (a big) adjustment as mentioned.

3) Make all quest bosses only attackable by toons who need the drop. Adds can still be killed by the clan.

This would give everyone of any level a chance to get their drops.


Otherwise leave the lock alone is my vote until a better system comes about.

^^I agree on alts. Alts is only geared before main if :

1. Its an alt that used very often (for example, a tank's alt is a rogue for dps and locking) helps a lot, longer than some main in clan and does more, and obviously sometimes by lvl.
2. Its an 'alt' of someone whos logging multiple toons at once, for example a dual-logger, a tri/quad logger, and ofc our 5 toons (whats the word for it?) logger.

Generally, ppl of rival clans gear a lot of their alts and their mains and stay at lvl 180-200 to gain a permenant advantage.

Why should people have to make a locking alt for bosses that are high level/endgame? If level lock is trashed u cannot give me one good reason a level 180-200 cant level up too 220 and have a real lock battle. The reason People stay at 180-200 for bosses like snorri and endgame ones is to abuse the level lock system to gain a unfair advantage nothing more. So if everyone stayed at that level for those bosses the tower would have been pointless and all the work Otm put into it wasted. But yeah the ones that dove head deep into tower and played the game otm wants us to play get punished by a handicapping system. Sorry still makes no sense to me The way I see it's a easy way for people to abuse the system.

Maybe have so if a low level is leveling once he gets lock the higher level will do no damage on the mob have this for leveling mobs only and not boss because to do a boss lots times we need a lot more then one group
