Of course it does, a good tank organises the whole fight to run smoothly and quickly, just standing there taking hits for as long as possible is not good tanking.
Hence a pet that gives you a little extra health and a little help getting the fight done quicker is a good tank pet.

Obviously extra vit is better than no bonus, nice observation. But that vit is also better used on any other class besides maybe rangers.

Why should the tank be organizing raids? It should be a toon actually capable of observing what is going on and can type freely without potentially causing many deaths. Are you even an endgame player?

Any other class? No dps melee class would use it over a Wolf and no support melee class would use it when there will obviously be a future dex based pet, who is dumb enough to waste held their pet tokens on a pet they will replace?

I would love a pet that would tank for me, however we would need a new class added to the game for that to be possible. A pet taming class reminiscent to the hunter in WoW or old school ultima online would totally rock.

I would guess an animal with a natural outer defense such as a Turtle, Armadillo, or Snail.

Another UO player!!!

Taming was the best, especially being an archer tamer for PvP champsion spawn defending. Loved my nightmare and beetle with a heavy crossbow dismount followed by moving shot with the composite bow.

The blue beetle was one of my all time favorites. It was a mount with its own storage, and it doubled as a pet when needed. I loved it. I wish OTM had a few folks who played old school UO, the ideas they could use and bring to CH would be awsome.
