Re: It's time to drop the no sharing rule: an opinion piece

It's not enforced anyways so why does it matter? The only reason I could see this being enforced in this game is when it comes to the point where the players who are sharing have stolen eachother's items and are trying to get the support team to solve it. That's when account sharing is a problem. Other than that, it doesn't matter.

I believe that OTM should make bans timed like in WoW. This would limit the amount of tickets Support will receive daily.

Also, Make a shop where you can see:
-Items Dropped: expires after a week(would be able to get dropped items back)

-Items Sold to Shop: expires after a day.(you would be allowed to get it back for the same amount you sold it as)

Both of this things would limit the amount of tickets Support would get.

+1to op and this we need support more than they need to ban shared accounts especially with recent server restarts and all

I personally know people that have been banned for sharing.

It's not enforced "much" - is what Vulture is saying. It's usually inspected by OTM when it's reported.
However, if OTM really wanted to enforce it there are easy policies and scripts that can match IP's when you contact the server through wi-fi. If one second you're in London and then 2 hours later there's a login from Aussie then its obvious something fishy is going on.

@Muldar do you think you can bring this up as an idea to The Team?

We do have a system for timed bans, it is used dependent on circumstances.

As to the buy back system this is something we have looked into implementing but have not put development time towards currently.

The only problem with that kind of system is people could just buy something, use it for majority of the day (like to lix or boss or pvp duel) then resell it for the same price back. Or what about the new lux shop. If people bought lux searching for say a reaper ring, being able to sell back an item you don't want kind of breaks that.
