Ah was a great update to the game and was needed. And if u put up stuff for high prices it wont sell... so most people that want stuff sold undercut things..I'm playing this game for nearly a year now. I have spent a lot of time, had fun and invested even a little bit of real money on platinum.
It was fun at the beginning and became significantly more difficult and even annoying to play when my main char (a fire mage, now Level 110) developed (I complained about fire mages earlier in this forum, but I'm not sure if the developers of the game even read here, not to mention do something on behalf of complaints).
I accepted the game principle that you have to find other players if you want to tackle a difficult foe/boss. That worked o.k. as long as my char had tasks in Shalemount. When I advanced to Stonevale, things changed, Even with the help of 3 or 4 friends I was not able to kill any of the bosses there. A mere 5-star-boss (Level 72) is so strong that 3 or 4 level 70 heroes are not able to get him down.
Therefore I skipped most of the Stonevale-tasks and proceeded to the Otherworld, the Murky vaults and Carrowmore tunnels.
In the mean time the update came with the auction house. At first I thought "Good idea! I can now buy stuff to finish tasks if they are to difficult for me."
But I also noticed that the game changed significantly. Hordes of very high-level players now swarm the Stonevale and Otherworld planes. They farm there for valuable items like the elm discs or dragon discs. The spawn rate of the Stonevale bosses is really slow. You rarely see one of the bosses. And when you find one there sure is a very high level player fighting it and not giving lower level players a chance to join in the fight. Instead these high level players place the gained special items in the auction house for unbelievably high prices.
At the same time, the drop rate for all the special items is significantly reduced. I spent a week long holiday during easter time killing eyes in the Otherworld, but the required scroll for Mathulus page 5 never dropped and it is never for sale in the action house either.
In my eyes there is something completely wrong with the game now. The drop rate of special items should be corrected so that all players have a chance to get them.
In addition the auction house should be closed. Otherwise the farming will continue and this will change the character of the game.
But I would place a bet that no programm developer will read my complaint and change will never come. So sad ...
Re: Is the auction house destroying the game?
#12OTM should really just make all quest armor drops no trade.
Alternatively implementing trivial loot code would be good to. Like if a player with leven greater than 20 levels over boss nothing drops.

Re: Is the auction house destroying the game?
#13the bosses in stonevale were designed for small, low-level clans to take down, I had a clan when I was level 70 and we easily took them down with a few players, probably 6 players tops, around level 60-80, just needed a few druids and some good dps and it was easy, these bosses weren't designed to be extremely easy since these items are needed to advance in game, you have to work for it. And if you aren't able to get many, then I would suggest joining a larger, more advanced clan that rewards you with the items you need for your armor quests, that is what I did once I realized frozen bosses are a lot harder to fight and harder to find. But warden bosses aren't too hard if you have a good group to fight them.I'm playing this game for nearly a year now. Re: Is the auction house destroying the game?
#14You're missing the point. If you're struggling with warden, you'll never get frozen armor.. ever. AH is a pain in the ass- noobs put restos in AH for 1.5k each, and that ends up raising prices ever so slowly and steadily. Also, the amount of raid drops or dl/edl drops sold have skyrocketed since the release of AH. Higher levels camping warden are usually getting it for alts or for clannies, and not putting them in AH. On the other hand, AH allows you to sell items while being offline and gives you a chance to bid on items you may want.I'm playing this game for nearly a year now. As for stonevale, try joining a clan. The 5 star bosses you're talking about are just quest bosses that don't drop anything.
Re: Is the auction house destroying the game?
#15That could go wrong real easily. Unless you changed it to anyone 20 levels above and with the armour.OTM should really just make all quest armor drops no trade.

Re: Is the auction house destroying the game?
#16No.
Lower levels can easily get these discs, higher levels take a while locking the mob due to level lock, same applies to otherworld mobs.

Which lvl 200 with DL armour can't lock Brutus and most likely Falgren with 1 or 2 instas?
