It's not scamming, it's simply breaking the ToS agreement for real world trading, which unlike scamming, can get you permanently banned without the chance of an appeal.

An example of scamming would be collecting some sort of payment for the wings, and then not actually trading them to the person in-game.

It's also very obvious that you haven't the slightest clue how much those wings are actually worth to collectors. Try getting them for less if you think it's that easy?
It is scamming in the sense that you are stealing potential profits from otm. By selling virtual items, you are selling stuff that isn't yours and making money off that.
So why should anyone be upset besides OTM? How does it have any effect on you or the OP?

Ok let’s say I know someone is selling items/gold for real life money, what evidence are needed to show that person is breaking the rules? And would otm care if the person selling items is one of their loyal platinum customers?
There is no special treatment for loyal or paying customers.

Because it's wrong - just because it doesn't affect you doesn't mean you shouldn't do something.

Maybe it's just me, but if someone is getting robbed at a subway station wouldn't it be the right thing to do to do something about it?

I don't think it's just as wrong as scamming in the sense someone has paid for something and then didn't receive it.

While it's wrong in the sense that it violates the ToS, it isn't your job as a player/customer to enforce those terms.

On the contrary, an actual scammer may effect you by potentially scamming you or your friends, and that would have an impact on your gameplay.

I don't condone breaking the ToS.

Again, this falls in the morality of intervention.

Back to the subway example- it would be right for us to do something when we see someone getting robbed, even though it is not our job to do it. Many of us are not cops, but it doesn't matter because it's just right to intervene.

Because a robber is a potential danger to yourself and other people, and is likely to commit crimes that are exponentially greater than someone choosing to break the ToS in a video game to buy some wings? Which by the way, effects you and everyone else in literally no way at all.

If you want to report someone for breaking the ToS, that's your choice, and you can do it by sending an email to support. There's no need to get upset because you don't have enough gold to acquire the items you want, and point fingers on the forums because of it.

Again, not condoning scamming or breaking any ToS.

As I said before... this falls into the morality of intervention. If your morals are that you shouldn't interfere with otm unjustly losing potential money, then so be it. But you shouldn't be surprised nor should you stop other people from trying to stop this just because they believe in doing what they think is morally right.

I'm not attempting to stop anyone from doing what they will inevitably do anyway. It just doesn't seem like "morality of intervention" as much as it seems like an excuse to make yourself feel morally superior. Would you stop a stranger from smoking because they're potentially hurting themselves? By breaking the ToS, the company isn't losing potential profits. Rather, the person who breaks the ToS is potentially hurting themselves by risking getting banned. People who want to buy platinum, most likely will do so, regardless of any other circumstance. Just like people who want to smoke, will smoke.

On a side note, the person who is able to afford spending that much on some wings is most likely a frequent platinum buyer already.

Well, kids here defending this, your accounts are going on a watchlist.

This isn't just against our Terms of Service. Depending on how it is done and a number of other factors, it could be a crime. It is far more serious than scamming. If are purchasing these items, you are also subject to punishments that come along with it.

If you know anyone that is buying or selling accounts, items, mounts, etc, please feel free to PM me those reports with screenshots. YES, texts on third-party apps such as LINE or BAND will be taken into consideration when dealing with these reports. Again, this is an extremely serious offense and is not up for debate or further explanation.

This does affect anyone that plays the game. It can affect development times, expansions and a laundry list of other internal company factors that slow down benefits for the community at large.
