Then again. You say this about me lets think other way around. You can't take boss so you want enrage timer changed yet others can.... Hmmm its not the boss i guess. Just the clan? So if nothing is wrong with the boss why change it? Enrage isnt that hard i work with. Its easy atch just gotta have right tactics and boss can still be yours but ill let u figure that out for yourself.

brookie if there is a ranger who is willing to bolas and run around the area and can SURVIVE then yes its completely fair
15-20% damage will basically give the dps's the kill if there is a close call on who hit first

Again it is very easy to sit in the top clans on any given server and say it works fine the way it is. The truth is most players will not be in that position.

If OTM created enrage to avoid boss locking then they made the timer way to short. If it is a boss dynamic meant to make the bosses harder then it is working just fine.

Haha. You misunderstand the situation. There is a reason there is no clan tag in my signature. :) I am not in the top clan (I could be if I wanted to, I have a standing invitation but chose to stay clan-less) but I do help them on bosses when they ask because most of them are friends of mine. They have trouble taking these bosses. Friends of mine in the second and under clans consider it impossible at this time, even though they have a several players higher levels than the bosses and more around the levels of the bosses. I want enraged timer altered (not removed) to give the second and under clans a fighting chance at these bosses now rather than having to wait weeks or months for a decent chance. I don’t want these other clans to have to go through the same situation as they did with Aggy, even now the clans that could take finally it are having difficulties or just haven’t bothered. So you see? It’s not just ‘me’ or ‘my clan’ that can’t handle the enrage timer. It is several clans on my server, not to mention all the others that have cropped up on these forums to say the same thing. It seems to me new people come to the forums complaining of the enrage timer, while only the same few continue to say how good it is. I want it fairer to those that are willing to put forth the effort to try not to get slapped in the face by what I (yes I said ‘I’ there) feel is an overpowered enrage timer.

You talk about tactics, but tactics are just a work-around to a situation. The % target lock just takes its own work around. It isn’t that hard to work with. It’s easy to figure out. You feel % lock should be changed because you don’t feel you should have to figure out a way to work around it? Seems the pot is calling the kettle black.

My issue with all of this enrage lock etc nonsense. Ch has become or rather is approaching a scripted game, i downloaded and paid into and mmoRPG (role playing game). The thing that sets rpgs apart is the freedom, I am a big fan of skyrim and only got into this because it was a similar style of game i could play with my gaming friends. Back then there were many ways to take a boss. Tank heal dps support set ups, ranger kite-ing, massive dps idol zerging (very inefficent but in clan wars effective), even laystone running.

Update 3 knocked out idol zerging with timers and made ranger kite - ing a nicer challenge. Aggy was pretty much only possible in the traditional well-balanced group set up. (cept that time elementals took it with 7 players (few multiboxed) to prove a point to lazy clan members...) this was alright because aggy wasnt quest related and had greatly superior gear (it made sense to me anyway)

Update 4 well-balanced group or go home. Why? Why do I have to play the same way as everyone else all the time? Why cant I earn my rouges namesake by killing something in a group that shouldnt be able to? (taking ignus with just me and night was epic and by no means undeserved) why should I even buy plat if im supposed to have a tank taking argo all the time? Why should they buy plat if they need to have a team of druids anyway. If i have to play this game exactly the way im told how is this an RPG any more than DDR? left right up down

Update 5(?) fully scripted game?

I saw a post from admin (which i should quote but i aint like that) which basically talked about right and wrong builds. " 1* of appropriate lvl will be easy even for a poor build, 2* will be more of a challenge for a decent build..." etc. Others may not agree but there really isnt poor builds just poor game mechanics. Holding to skyrim, essentially any build is playable, where there is a will there is a way. I like this, and would rather see ch go that direction then the one of purely scripted instances.

Why I feel like otm is going this direction. I feel that they very foolishly listen to those who squawk the most. Essintially bleeding heart noobs and their elitist beta testers. Those are large and important demographics of the game but I feel like an in game poll on radical ideas (potentially weighted by level or hours played or active days) would substaintially improve gamer satisfaction)

Understand that I understand these are my opinions not nessicarily yours.

Elvira using negative attacks on people's opinion is not the most constructive way to improve our game. Of course lady does not expect OT to enter each world and poll all players but spending some time in each world and talking to the people who actually are playing the game doesnt sound so bad to me...think about it for a minute.....(did ya really think?) Each world has its own dynamics which unfortunately were not well represented in beta. Perhaps there is another way OT can gather info as I appreciate they are limited by apple for beta testers.

As for Lady not having a clue....you are so so very wrong!!!!

Let's all try not to have such a myopic view point. There are many different play styles and the game should accommodate them as it has in the past.

    Thank you for acknowledging that drama will not help make our game better. I believe that if you reread lady's idea she was not suggesting OT poll every noob but somehow figure a way to get input from players who are actually invested in the game. The forum board is covered by players who may not see the big picture and tend to complain about every little nuance of the game. Lots has changed with the new update and many have been working with the changes trying to find ways to reinvent characters to suit those changes. And yes it may take OT some time to get input from players but do you not think they are spending a heap of time dealing with issues now that may have been avoidable.

    Somewhere the development system is flawed whether it be with Beta testers, OT or apple criteria I'm not certain. I was so excited about the new update and continue to be so as we figure out how to make things work but it has been at a real cost ($) to many players as we are forced to accommodate changes with each patch. I applaude the amount of work OT put into this update and they must be pulling out thier hair dealing with all the tickets...surely there is a better way.

      I did not fully represent my polling idea here as i have in older posts, or thought about posting i aint sure. (being away for a few months fuzzied my memory) but i did not mean for admin to log in and chit chat, i meant a system. You log in a window pops up saying hey we're considering target lock what do you think? Yes/no buttons.

      Then answers could be weighted by multiple statics, popular vote, hours played vote, character level vote, (if they had any business sense a platers vote) and many more potentail inputs by staticists that they are storing anyway. A forum heavy person is a very spefictic kind of person, as is a beta tester. When compling data it is always better to use levels of abstraction than to zone in on individuals.

      I do not deny that classes have roles and should, what I am saying is that more options is better. A warrior armor / hp tank is an obvious role by why eliminate rogue dex tanks by crazily increases a bosses melee while nerfing the effectiveness of hollowing wind and fast reflexes?(ive not tested these alleged nerfs this is heresay from trusted experienced clanmates) If theres exactly one way to build one way to lvl one way to defeat a boss then the game has nothing more than an equation that takes a long time to carry out. Im fairly decent at algebra, ill be bored in no time and i suspect so will many others.


      Any of you looking to get my goat, dont go the youre just upset you, your clan, belenus cant kill bosses yet route. We crushed that firblog serean(?) 175 6* guy tonight in just under 17 minutes (which i understand is about a minute and a half long of the record) Ive got my dragon lord gloves some of my clanies already got boots aswell as gloves. There is no question of can we do it, im just not so sure i'll want to.
