In my abstract, I specifically defined the powers and limitations of both the rogue and ranger class.
In now way am I belittling rogues in this post or saying my burst damage should be the same.
I'm saying that both our overall DPS should be the same that is, a rogue will achieve his DPS through speed, and a wide skillset while rangers will achieve their DPS through ranged, heavy bow attacks and slower, more powerful attacks.
That is my take on it. Hate to break it to you rogues, but nowhere in this game was it ever mentioned that rogues are the kings of DPS. If that were the case, there would be no need to make a ranger because his "all-roundedness" is a joke.
Rangers are an alternative form of DPS that everyone should use in a raid boss. He is slower yes, but he makes up for it with powerful hits and skills.
And herein lies the problem. We don't have skills so we are left with a poor endgame style of play.
