The change to resurrection idols is being made as part of a bigger game balance push. Now that we're past the bulk of the design work for the Destiny Engine the design team is focusing on class balance, we will be making changes to overall class balance, role balance(how well each class does its job) and gear. Existing idol functionality won't change, any idols you have now will work exactly the same when the Destiny Engine launches.
I thought the game balance was achieved when cool down for idol was introduced as well as idol lock. Now idol will be nerfed. Seems like an overkill or change motivated by some ulterior motive. Has OTM tested effect of change on endgame boss raid like necro? Maybe OTM should simulate 40 high levels with full dl and other gears raiding necro to see how the change will affect the ability to kill necro.

They cant since they probably dont have that many employees

Aileron, do you ever have people messing with your raids? Tank calming or dragging adds?

Tank calming on griefing worlds will be at an all-time high, and the effect of it will be insane. A few people could ruin the top 2 end-game bosses for everyone with this change.

Why not add an Instance in which you only respawn with 1k health and energy after using an idol? One where people can not interfere and effectively make the top 2 end-game bosses impossible (1 of them at the very least).

Another point - it's got really boring farming tonics for Hrungnir. Can we get him to drop 10-20 tonics per raid? Wasn't too bad for the first few months.. Now over a year and 150 kills later, it's sooo tedious.

Im glad otm is working on class balence, but if this balence is anything like last time they balanced it.... Well, everyone should be making a new class soon enough.... I truly hope otm takes player opinion into consideration, bc with out it the classes still wont be balenced, as otm does not know the minds of their players in the game too well... On the other hand, im glad to hear that otm is gettingg done with the new engine, and that it prob wont be another year till its out

Yep we have been griefed on bosses. But it works both ways. We can dish out the same griefing if necessary.
Idol change doesnt change a thing about griefing on Necro. Mordris encounter is a little bit more controlled, and griefing is harder.

OTM needs to make calm a group only skill. I hope this is part of their 'class balance changes'. I will definitely push for it as it is currently used to disrupt gameplay only, a poorly designed skill.

Soooo, high hp will be the new us? I thought we had low hp high dps rogues so boss wouldn't rage... :/


Also, you cannot save everyone in a boss fight, so those mages will have to resto and sigil of course. I know the aoe can be stopped with kiting or shatter, but gah...>.<

Yea I'm a bit nervous about 'class balance'. Last time the results made many people upset.

I'm pretty certain in this next round ill wind up with the best but also the worst class to play.
