... If there was some sort of penalty, I might think twice about trying out some of the things I've done in the past. (just realised Dersu posted this same topic earlier ;) )
1. You're misquoting me, or you misread my post. My point on not trying was in relation to Papi's idea of a life bonus. ie. If I was getting exp/gold/ability bonuses because I have not died in a long time, I might not want to risk losing that bonus.

The death penalty, as proposed by Admin, would allow your try once without consequence. You die once and you have a non-effect penalty. You die a second time, and there is an real effect added to the debuff.

So you would risk nothing trying something once. If you fail, you wait it out cautiously for a moment or two. Think of the first death like a Yellow apple in soccer.

2. Taking on Aggy with one group is a questionable choice in judgement. No sympathy for your cost.

3. Server lag is a legitimate concern. That being said, the first death (in Admin's version) is a non-effect, 2 minute Yellow apple. Once everyone is back online, let the debuff expire and continue with your day.

Why a death penalty is a issue for you guys beat me,

A better idea why this does get implement only on the server of the players who supporter this idea and make them happy , that will make you guys happy but leave danu alone we do thing diferent there i like to burn myomey that way i want .

So a few server get this and when they realized how stupid it is they migrate to other servers who didnt implement this, each server does think diferent . And plays diferent.
Just because a few players are back in the days of older mmos let them play as they like .

Sounds like they should make your server the "bumper bowling" server , have all mobs die with 2 hits and have falgren fart dragon discs for the poor noobies who need em . Oh and have Lockjaw the jailer drop Aggy loot.

Well you are the guys asking for this check dead leader boards and you will see around 8 ppl from danu in top 20 why we are used to idol bosses if you guys dont like ppl who play with platinum .... Ask to change your server no the game .


Just because your clan is bored dont change 12 more servers just change does 2 servers .

I think idols shoul null the buffs because your paying for them. It defeats the object of not running back... If you get debuffed while using an idol then u would just run back from laystone again it's gonna make no difference. I have been in games with death peniltys but there is always a rl money item to null this effect idols should do this...

Sorry, I must not have read your post right. It was late at night when I wrote this

I wasn't asking for sympathy on that attempt, and admittedly it was stupid to do this. I was simply trying to highlight that whether you burn through 90 idols or 1, there is a penalty of an idol which costs me 250 gold each. multiply that over time, and it really adds up.

The first one being a non-effect would solve this. I have rarely seen the server kick someone off repeatedly over a two minute span. If this does happen, its a connection issue which would be the fault of the player not the game.

I could really go either way on this topic, by the way. If this does happen, it will change our style of play but I'm sure we will all get over it.

Yeah I didn't understand the "carrot and stick" analogy.
This is just a situation where there are various versions of a proverb. Similar, but slightly different.

Papi has obviously learned it in a carrot OR stick version. ie. Give the horse a carrot or beat it with a stick to move it forward.

Tyrant (and myself) have learned it in a carrot AND a stick. ie. Tie a carrot to the end of a stick, extend it out beyond the horse's face, and he will move forward trying to get the carrot.

I have also heard the proverb in the following way: "A carrot and a stick is better than a whip," which does have a nice rhythm to it. :)

Lol, yeah... I looked it up afterwards and it was a legitimate and widely used saying. I was incorrect to try to correct the saying since it was used properly. I had just never heard it used that way before. Your explanation is hilariously thourough. I meant to come back and point out my mistake but I forgot.
