white hat should have stat bonuses or a supremo graphical effect! multi colored stars cascading from the tip of the hat down to the ground, raising the user's bonus to gold or xp by 25%

It's optional and it's free. Think of it as a novelty hat that shows off your effort. There will be people with white hats, and that seperates them from everyone else.

A good quest design is something that players will enjoy doing and at the same time challenging to do and in the end feel pride when they accomplish it. This isn't a good quest design by any MMO gaming standard. It's just a mind numbingly boring repetitious quest because they just want to recycle an old idea, perhaps due to lack of imagination or just pressure to put something out there that takes weeks to do.

I am working on green and I cannot imagine going all the way to white. For those not doing this quest, let me give you the run down from my perspective:

What im getting at is that there are no benefits from these hats. They are comparable to the idea that the 1m broom is more of a symbol.

I just got blue, you need 3 blues for purple so I am pretty sure you will need 3 the whole time.

If the issue is it's "mind numbingly boring," that's valid, but I think people should offer up new ideas of what they would like to gather and how, and how much somewhere. Help OTM break this mold, if you dislike it so much. I haven't been able to really get into this event, too busy, but I am trying.

I personally kinda dig the **almost** never ending quest, but making it possible to get one of these red hats in a drop or something, hence skipping one echelon of pumpkin gathering might be a fun way to keep it interesting.

Once again the proof of OTM deep creative ingenious brainstorming in 2 minutes released quests.

WELCOME TO CELTIC FARMERS : "You will farm hours mobs to get precious items, or get lucky and get them from our special placeholders preventing you to fight real bosses" (having extremely good bateries and drinking a lot of cafeine to stay awakee is a must !)

WELCOME TO CELTIC CAMPERS : "If you camp for hours right on the spawn places of the bosses, you may be able to lock bosses up and get all the drops for your greedy crew" (beeing extremely greedy is a must !)

WELCOME TO CELTIC RUNNERS : "Discover our repetitive quests, run for hours and collect without any challenge thousands of pumpkin or stones during our special events and get rewarding exactly the same item but of different color. If you have no life, you will be rewarded with a white mask, the proof that you know how to memorize obvious spawn places and virtually run for days !!!" (waking up early and playing until very late is a must if you want to get these precious useless items)
