Wow what an interesting thread.

Here's an idea.

Instead of putting in Target Lock to smooth out the game play and also maybe stop certain higher levels selfishly killing low level quest mobs why don't we GET RID OF ALL HIGH LEVEL PLAYERS.

Think about it, the longer a game lasts the more high level content that needs to be created. For some reason (buying gold and tradable quest items?) this game has a boringly smooth and easily speedy progression rate (use Exp Pots and grind). There is comparitively little content as you level up in the game and there are NO class specific quests to encourage replay. The content is stretched upwards rather than across the classes.

Sooooo get rid of high levellers - refund their Plat (they didn't buy any if you read forums) and concentrate on low level, 1 -100, quests and development. This would help OTM attract new players because they would have things to do.

OTM will make Plat from players with no high Alts.

I love the feel of this game but compare how much STUFF you have to do in other MMOs !! O&C is exhausting with the quests up to level 40 (my highest level), Why isn't CH also filled with things to do at each level section ? Because the high levels suck up all the development resources that's why.


I may not be entirely serious but I will bet cash money OTM wishes they could find a way to do this and that they discuss it at staff meetings.

Oh and my highest level is 120 which I consider medium level. Also I have to say most high level players are generous with their time.

I agree with this. I believe that the only reason as to why we are constantly in need of new content is because we level way too fast. Think about it- super exp elixirs equals FOUR TIMES the exp. That gives otm FOUR TIMES less time to produce new content for top levelled players. If we all levelled without elixirs there may only be a few level 150s on each server, instead of 10+.
I myself have gotten to 132 and do not train anymore because whats the point? Theres only one thing left to achieve above 130 and that is void aggy drops. So many elixirs and so many countless hours for 25 extra focus on your book or 50 extra vit on your trident.
I have heard across the winds that the level requirement for the first piece of dragon armour is 150 but why reach there now? All those people at level 150+ atm will get their level reqs for dragon weapons in probably a few days or maybe a couple of weeks and by that time their clans will gather the items needed for their quests. Two weeks. Two weeks, and the main focus of the next content update is ALREADY COMPLETED. Then what are they gonna do for the next year when theyre sick of repeatedly killing the new minibosses and the new giant dragon? Theyre gonna do what they do now. Level pointless alts and mope around collecting god-knows what.

Im sorry if it feels like im bashing on all the lovely people who have spent their time, effort and possibly money on getting to the soft cap, but you know what im talking about. You know that every time you log in you have to stop and think of what to do to temporarily cease your boredom.
Its like the scene in Ironman 2 when stark's father says that he cannot complete his work because he is limited by the technology of his time. Limited capacity for people with unlimited imagination.

Not just leveling at the 4X amount, but most of the current players who are in favor of not doing anything to better the game are the ones who leveled at a rate of 8X during exp event. Most of the people that dont want target lock control the disc and tab market. This is the reason why they can afford a 2 mil gold item. They have an awesome little scam going and they don't want it to stop. I have always said that the Warden and armor quests need to be revamped so that a 150 does not dictate a players fate. I dont know what that is, maybe make the items no-trade or some other means of deterring this gold laundering scheme. I know that at this pace of one update per year and the game getting stacked further against new players, it is pretty much a one shot with the next update for me. I mean if they don't get it right in U4 I dont think I will wait until May of 2014 to see if they have it fixed.

People are so dumb, back in the day I would have killed for someone to sell me a dragon disc for 30K but was stuck paying the average 200k to 250K

People just want things handed to them.
Oh Guffy.....after making so much sense you ruin it with that comment.

He wasn't talking about cheap prices or how how much they cost when you were a lad. He DID mention No Trade. I suppose he meant players should earn the quest reward as intended, by killing monsters and collecting the associated drops and not buy the drops at all. Revolutionary thinking isn't it?

I don't know if that is the best solution but it is certainly one solution that could be implemented, perhaps easily.
Everyone keeps thei current Tradeable Discs but all future drops are not.

Or make discs drop only to low levels and other things to higher Group members and keep discs Tradeable.

Or make them all the same type of discs and increase numbers needed by the better Warden Gear.

Or make the Warden Gear dependant on killing certain monsters a certain number of times or in a particular order. GET RID OF DISCS, now THERE is a solution.
