I've seen a Druid (MsRaindrop) hitting 500 auto's on Wyrms and surviving (0 deaths at all, without pots and using multiple elixers) with 10 vit lol.. Druids with the right gear and build can level efficiently, and I wouldn't even entirely call it melee.. They will still be using 4-5 skills, but they will be auto'ing which is the problem with Casters in this game. Because the auto has always been so crap, and Aggy Books had no damage whatsoever, they are used to ONLY using skills. A mix between the 2 would trump.

E.g. A Druid with an offhand Axe instead of a focus for levelling (would not be great on bosses), but for lvling an Axe gives a much bigger boost than a Focus and makes it much faster to kill, giving you better xp per lix and making you enjoy the class a little more

In mid update 3 h2h druid/mages was a huge thing
With the ammy and mords/hung gear i can see melee druids/mages coming up

Lets put it this way:

1. If OTM added an ammy that was the exact same but with 100 focus instead if damage nearly 100% of druids would buy it instead of the damage one, melee druid or not.

2. Melee classes would buy this and forget about the other ammy. No druids would even think about buying it.

The problem with a mixed melee and casting build is energy. This has always been our issue. If we equip in the offhand a lux item that has no rejuv, us Druids will be left with no energy within seconds. If we don't use a staff that has a 60-80 energy rejuv then our energy suffers. A pure melee build for Druid is rediculous as we have slowest weapons and weakest weapons other than mages so that is why that has never been a really good option for Druids. Prior to update 4 I felt like I had a good mixed melee/caster build for Druid and it seemed to work fine. After update melee builds for casters seeme to have changed and is no longer a viable option for casters.

The only new lux in this event that seems to be of any use is the energy bracelet that gives 25 energy rejuv but seems way too steep for an extra 5 energy rejuv and a 5% chance to evade elemental damage. The small armor boost is not practical at all and the 250 energy I would much rather had focus in that place.

I've tried both rooting and HW(melee) build and I must say, I like melee more if I'm leveling.

It was fine to be a rooting druid to lvl, but the root miss on 4* wyrms will usually kill me. With the fast cool down time on HW, it was possible to recast HW before I die and keep fighting. To be honest, the DPS didn't change as much as I hoped, but my survival rate did increase by a ton. Like other druids have mentioned, the problem with this build was my energy, but I was able to sigil up while running between mobs and put on e lix to keep my e up.

But like Godzilla said, if I had a choice between the current event ammy and an ammy with 40 rejuv + 100 focus, I would choose focus ammy any day

It's not about bosses. I don't auto attack a boss. I switch to my aggy book and heal while keeping winds on him with some added dps. Its about leveling which is increasingly difficult for druids. Also who in their right mind would build a melee druid? That would be horrible! It's about using auto attacks while your casting for some added dps. At first I never thought about auto attacking while leveling either till I started using combos after they fixed the elixers. Needed the added regen from energization. The bonus defence helps tremendously as well for a winds druid. Also the other bonuses from combos help as well including speed elixer. Then I started wondering why i was wasting the attack speed bonus and the attack bonus from these. Then the ammy came out. I thought lets give it a shot, i can always ask for a refund if I don't like it. I can say that I really like the added damage from just hitting that attack button while solo leveling on a combo. It also did increase my kill speed and the xp i gain from an elixer.

Unfortunately, like BLRD said, many druids have grown to accustomed to their aggy books and don't wanna try putting them away for a totem and a combo or heroic haste lix. I'll tell you though to just give it a shot. You might like the results.

P.S. Just to verify one more time. This is used for leveling only. Auto attacking a boss as a druid won't really help.

see my theory was that if I get as much focus as possible and buy like s couple thousand heroic energy lixes I could just rely on those without any regen so as.of.right now I'm pure focus as much focus as most can get and just pop a Ellis every time I try to kill anything because the heroics add 3% to your regen per tick then plus a base 15 so I get somewhere up to 500 ish energy per tick and I guess that works
I figured since I'm going to have to use a lix every fight anyway might as well use them to.their full potential
and my 1k.sigs best I could come up with without spending a ass ton on game

It would've been nice to have Ammy of different stats to choose from but its like opening a chest in this game u never know what it gonna get...I wish there was a way to test an item before buying.
