Post.... Too.... Long... Good luck.
Rivalry and hate fuels to desire to play this game more and more. It would be very boring with just boss runs, training, gladiator, repeat the process.
You need these kind of things to spice up life, not that i support any of it.
IMO clan rivalries fuel this game. Because of the lack of content, the competition is often what keeps me playing.
Yea the lack of content is pretty bad...
Well yes, I agree rivalries do make the CH world go round. I've read things about Taranis and how they rotate bosses and I respect that, but it doesn't seem like it would be very fun to just know that you have the next boss and it's not even a challenge. That being said, I played in Mabon for years and it's fun to an extent, but some people (*cough cough* Elite *cough cough*) always tend to take it a bit far. I always enjoyed fighting for lock and some friendly bantering, but if we got lock, they would be on adds pulling them towards us, all the while taunting us and (is there any way to say this without sounding like a puss) calling us names. It didn't really aggravate me but I never understood it. I would usually respond with some sarcastic reply to lighten the mood and that always made them even more mad for some reason.
Then of course there's the arena. LET ME EXPLAIN WHAT I MEAN BEFORE YOU COMMENT EXPLODE. READ THE TEXT.
I know it's an Arena where you are supposed to fight people to the death for fun, but if a 190 from Clan A walks in on a 120 in Clan B killing the gladiator (That the 190 doesn't even need) and kills him in 2 hits, is that really entertaining for him? Does it make him feel like he has a dig bick? Yep, you read that wrong. Anyways... I'm not saying a 180 doesn't have the right to fight an opponent near-ish his level for the gladiator; that's up to him, but just slaughtering a lower level because you can... Explain to me how that's fun...
Tl;dr
This is just based off the title.
It's called cabin fever. Players are forced to play on one server (since you don't know what type of people there are in each server before you pick one) with people who they may or may not get along with. On several other MMOs, if you find someone you don't like, you hop worlds. You can't do that in CH, especially after investing a ton of time/money into your account.
"Cabin fever is an idiomatic term, first recorded in 1918, for a claustrophobic reaction that takes place when a person or group is isolated and/or shut in a small space..."

They could either allow us to freely transfer servers or label the servers. "Atheists" would be one. "Racists"? Another one would be called "Psychopaths" or "SubSixteen".
This makes an unbelievable amount of sense Lolol. They should have something that makes you check the posts in different world forums before you create an account in a server : P
Overall I honestly don't see why people enjoy wars, I suppose I'm one of the "innocents", I try to get along with everyone, and so far there are only 3 people who I absolutely dislike. I try to keep it at that.
Exactly! I'm the same way and it seems a lot of other druids I know are also. I think it runs in the druids blood... We wan't to heal unfathomable, doesn't matter what.
(Scroll to bottom if you're too lazy to read and just want the rundown.)
thank you for that
Lolol you're welcome. I figured there would be a lot of people who didn't care to read a (somewhat) wall of text.
The actions and attitudes of people, when online, are based on the fact that there are no real consequences to face. This creates the kind of bravery that even a large dose of alcohol can't match. Irl, even in civil society, there is always the risk of saying the wrong thing to the wrong person and getting your azz handed to you or offending someone to the point that they can make your life incredibly difficult. Here, you don get that. If you burn too many bridges, you can always go to another server or another game.
Acting the fool on a mmo is easy. Carrying yourself with a bit of dignity is more difficult route. To all of you that take the road less traveled, my hat is off to you.
This.
