There's no point in having "alternative types of loot" when all raids are pretty much the same: have as many stat points, idols, and restos as possible. The more stat points you have, the less idols and restos used. Simple.
People will always use the more useful drop over the crappy one, no matter how unique and cool-looking that crappy drop may be.
If Agg dropped spoons, Hrungnir dropped forks, Mordris dropped toothpicks, Necro dropped chopsticks, and you're trying to eat a bowl of soup, people will still use the spoon.
