That's the reason why OTM gives bosses a cloak, is too slow down dps. If players just dps through cloak today because they can just idol over and over and dying doesn't matter, then what's the point of the cloak? What's the point of making challenging boss encounters when players have unlimited lives anyway? It's the right move and the only ones who don't like it are those who use idols as a crutch to kill bosses.
EDIT: It's been 2 years but at least OTM has been taking some of the feedback from years past and implementing some of them.

That's why they added idol lock and death penalties, so you can't just idol over and over and it makes dying matter. Bosses, end game, already require everyone to use hero hastes (kind of ridiculous imo but that's besides the point). Also it kinda makes druids a must for every single group and they, along with mages, become significantly weaker. Idoling and having 1000 hp then having to wait for sigils to regen energy, in that time an aoe or add could attack them and kill them putting them in idol lock. Back to making druids a necessity, I would imagine there aren't a surplus of druids on the majority of servers and with them being hard to level I don't see people running to make druid alts like they did with rogues in this last update.
I do believe this could be correctly implemented into the game, just not currently as the game is with how little 1000 hp is, especially for classes with such low armor and defense. Gabee pointed out that restores and idols were added into game when max hp/energy was only a couple thousand and this wouldn't be so bad if they added pots that restored 2000, 3000 or so hp/energy since you can easily get 10-20k hp/energy based on your build now.
