I don't think Apple will be switching to Intel mobile processors anytime soon. Intel is unproven in the mobile sector as far as phones go, I can only think of one maybe two companies that have used their chipsets and I'm pretty sure none of them are available in the states. Also, I think Apple is keen on designing their own chip sets so they are not beholden to someone like Intel, who are responsible for the delays in any significant update to their laptops because Intel couldn't keep Broadwell on track.

samsung makes apple chipsets atm,
go to 22 minutes for the part about apple switching to intel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-5RUv_d1hI

and it is irrelevant that broad well is late, the haswell and haswell-e chips are two years ahead of what anyone else has made

The amount of RAM is meaningless when comparing the two OSes. IOS is meant to run with less RAM. Android's java based architecture, however, means that the more RAM you throw at it the better it runs. The problems with the new CH engine on older IOS devices has nothing to do with the amount of RAM, but more to do with the graphics processors that were used in those earlier devices. I have an iPhone 5s and I am willing to bet that my 1GB RAM device runs the new CH just as good if not better than any Android device that has 3GB of RAM.
Oh really? On my android tab listed in the OP I can be playing CH, go home, go to chrome, browse the web for a few mins and go back to CH with the game STILL running. AKA no reconnection, it just speeds everyone up until it catches up with the live game. 3GB>1GB

Edit: My same CPU/GPU phone (HTC One) can similarly exit And return to the app without it disconnecting however semi-frequently has to reload the area, which isn't bad as it only takes 2 seconds

You're talking about multitasking, which is handled differently in IOS and Android. IOS doesn't have true multitasking like Android does. That being said, even though IOS doesn't relaunch me back into the game immediately like Android, from the time I double tap the home button, select the CH apple and hit continue, takes all of five seconds and that is into the actual live game, not the sped up lag of the game catching up to real time. But like I said, IOS and Android handle it differently. IOS is super aggressive in shutting down stuff in the background in order to conserve battery life. I'm not saying one is better than the other, just stating my experiences as I have owned/own devices on both platforms. I just happen to prefer IOS.

I've never played it on Android. One of the great things about Android is the beta system for apps. You can literally have an unlimited number of people download your beta on Android. This makes it easier to stress test new stuff in an upcoming update. IOSs Testflight app limits you to 1000 beta testers. With so many fewer beta testers you are more likely to end up with the mess that is going on in the IOS update now. I actually lag out less on the new engine, but stupid stuff like pulling down the notification shade, pulling up on command center, and low battery notifications result in an immediate reboot of the app.
