Re: Rolling For Raid Drops

We roll for some of the event lower tier drops that will probably just end in a bank anyway. The overhead of DKPing low tier ring drops is too much of a pain. This event we are rolling for quite a few things :-/
Or just store garbo items in the bank and "lend" them out to growing alts or people who would use it for free. Once done or outgrown, they send the item back to the bank.

That's what we do with few items from this event but rings are so unfathomable even for godly we decided to roll on them..

While rare, the godly Mage necks and Druid neck are great. The charms are very good, even the royals are useful and godly are almost op. But for mele classes they blow.

The rings blow, even godly. They also benefit casters the most with paper armor and low defense, though barely. It's ridiculous on warriors as the armor makes no difference.

end game castes don't need armor and defense, and they have better rings for leveling of they're not end game. Also mages can use eshield and Druids use bark/wind. IMO the slot is wasted on an armor/defense ring

Regarding this main vs alt thing, I've never cared about it, especially for raid drops, the main or alt factor should be ignored. Using a dkp system I came up with a system where all characters got points individually(main or alt) class items taken into account they can freely bid for anything there class can equip and if they have the points it doesn't matter if mains or alts or mains and alts bid, highest bidder will get the item and they deserve it when they win. If it's an alt mains can't argue because they obviously had less points.

Rolling sucks and it's just a cheap way for inactive players to have a chance at drops they never would if the system was fair. If you don't wanna invest the time you should be happy with mighty and dark items.

I disagree with DKP systems as a way to determine who should receive the most valuable drops. Example: Godly blood rings. These items should go to someone who actively shows up to all EDL bosses, not just to Raid bosses. The ideal system would be an activity tracking system similar to DKP, but includes every major DL/EDL boss as well. The DKP system on Sulis is flawed for this reason, someone can log every 2-4 days to collect points from mord/necro, when in reality, someone else is far more active when it comes to 205, 210, 215, snorri, etc. It makes sense to have the best drops on the character where it will be used at the most bosses...

We may revamp our clan's current system of rolling for low-tier drops and collectively deciding on higher-tier drops as we expand. The main issue with my ideal system is finding the right people who won't get burned out keeping track of every log.
World - Sulis
Clan - Toxic

H3ROsRogue - lvl 220 rogue
H3ROsRanger - lvl 200 ranger
H3ROsMage - lvl 220 mage
H3ROsDruid - lvl 220 druid
H3ROsWarrior - lvl 200 warrior
H3ROsLocker - lvl 190 rogue

Can't imagine losing kills to a ranger in 2019.

thats why on my sever at least we give DKP points for people who turn up to the important bosses sreng, snorri, unox, rev 6* bosses so its not just raid loggers who receive points
But the leaders of the DKP system in Retribution aren't as active on all of those bosses.

Good system that we did consider but too much effort to implement. Kudos to your clan for doing it. I think Avalon has also a good system that takes into account not just attendance at endgame raid,

Your DKP shstem is flawed and therefore needs correction if the Godly items dont go to your active campers/raiders that include every contribution including DL/EDL.

In Avalon we have a separate pool for EDL but the points still get added to other pools, thus someone can attend 2 or 3 EDL bosses and thats equivalent to Mordy raid, for example. Also gives people in a less acrive timezone who frequently miss the bigger raids a chance to accumulate points and compete for items

But to say distributing items via DKP is wrong way is incorrect. It is certainly better than random dice rolling and even loot council which is always subjective and doesnt consider all factors. It really depends on how your clan implements one and dont be afraid to tweak it when you see problems arise.

Ive tweaked our DKP system several times over the years to account for any flaws and adjusted it for the CH loot dynamics (multiple tiers/upgrade/exchange, ultra rare godly, rtc) I even put in rules for people who miss raids for certain reasons, such as vacation, for example, but still deserve the loot. It's still not pefect but the goal is to put all your best items to your most active members and distribute them equally and fairly.
