So a legendary/iconic item and one of the rarest mounts in the game is now pointless. Gg.

That's not true furyion boss only spawns 1 about every 2 weeks and will usually drop a bone misc so because it's a rare drop it will be awhile before the mount starts dropping

There is a huge huge difference between no spawn and rare spawn. It's not 2011 anymore, it's not event anymore.

Some things are worth keeping if it's rare, but that's only with things that are actually good. Broom of doom was only good for it's rareness, and it was a symbol of the oldest players and the early game. It was the games first mount so it should have been the least likely mount to be on the chopping block.

Again, not only a disrespect to collectors but one to old players as a whole.

Broom of doom is actually a symbol of money not necessarily an old player, I for one am glad they brought it back along with darkflame armour and yes I am an old player.

If what muldar said is true, that it's a very rare drop, then I don't really see an issue. The Bonegiant spawns within a two week period, and if the chance of getting a broom of doom is very rare then don't expect many to drop in a given year, if it drops. But of course, only otm knows the drop rates so I may or may not be right but I still wouldn't stress over it

The reason the items existed were because of old players. They had the tough choice of wether to keep the items or not. Because of how meaningful the items were, a good amount did keep them, some did sell however. Some of the people, though, cared enough to keep these items. They were usually the ones in need of gold too(at least from my experience), so it really showed a lot about how much they liked them. Others kept old items as investments, but this was less so.

The value on old items can only go up, as it can only get older therefore rarer. Yes an item can stay steady too, but there's no situation it should go down(provided it's not valued for it's stats). So keeping old items is logical, and is a good reward for those who play.

Then this comes along...

Now let me give you an example. I bought darkflame pants for 950k in 2013. That was a pretty good deal for lugh prices because it never sells. I was offered 2m in 2014. Well this is the oldest armor in the game right? So it can only go up, so there was no risk in keeping it too, so I held onto it. Because there's no way they could bring back event stuff, especially the first event..... Right....? Hahaha no. So this hits and I had to fast sell it for 500k(and I was lucky I got that), because the value was falling like a rock. That and it was meaningless to me as a collector now because it was no longer ultra rare(or meaningful of Halloween 2011 because anyone could get it). It's just a terrible version of solstice now.

Now me being me it doesn't affect me and I don't really care about my loss. But that kinda money is a lot to other people, and even if they don't care they lost it I care they lost it because it was done in an unjust way.

And a broom of doom is worth a lot more then dark flame is... Even if it's a rarer drop, if it drops at all then it's not event anymore(because it's not temporary), and it's instantly called on that and drops a huge chunk in price and isn't iconic of it's event anymore.

It's just against all logic and reasoning to bring it back, and I'm shocked it actually happened.

The fact you took the initiative to quick sell it put you to hate the legacy bosses/vendor like the rest of those who don't support it. Before it happened everyone cried that reapers, Samhain, and all old lux will drastically decrease in price on gwydion the prices for these old items didn't move an inch. I wouldn't quick sell anything just because it's able to be gotten again. Look at those with gara/skain poison sets, no one would dare to sell one for less than 10m+.

I've been around since July 2011 and couldn't care less about them bringing these things back.

Maybe someone can help explain why dark flame and these low speed mounts are worth so much just because they're old. Fashion from chests I totally get because someone had to pay real cash to get plat to obtain chests and the same with certain mounts like the yule wings. But I don't understand something like dark flame that's just going to sit in your bank.

Our scenarios are different.

Lux shouldn't have came back either, but at least that had backup to hold the value(the very rare chance to get it in the expensive store), so it didn't fall, or it didn't fall much, depending on the world.

With these boss drops they are basically being given away. The undead fire titan ALWAYS DROPS a darkflame piece so it's basically worthless now. Now for the broom... people will probably argue that since it's a very rare drop the price is contained... Right? No, because a no spawn is worth quite a bit more then a very rare drop.

That and for those collecting Halloween 2011 stuff(like me) it's meaningless to own them now, as it's no longer truely known to be from the event.

I can confidently say that the drop chance on the broom is to the extent it will not affect current mount pricing.

So a good comparison is.. The chance of bone giant dropping broom of doom is the same chance for mordris to drop a void moon helm?
