Stupid people do stupid things

It’s not easy to scam, people are simply dumb enough to let themselves get scammed. Just be glad we don’t play the 2012 version of this game where scamming was so easy as there were no safeguards in trades and the mail didn’t exist.
I think most of us would loan a long standing clan mate a piece of gear. There's a difference between being dumb and trying to be nice to a clan mate.
So being in a clan for 5 months is long standing? Lol. Scammers are smart, and they feed off of vulnerable stupidity. Shouldn’t really be lending out any gear unless if you know the person irl.

Anyways, +1 to a lending system. Anything to stop people from making more stupid decisions only to go out and complain that they made a stupid decision lol.

I sense a distinct pattern:

...But otm won’t listen and will either lock this thread or delete it. Here is a prime example of a games player base providing feed back but otm won’t listen.

...otm won’t listen to us. Their famous line “were currently talking about it” is bull. Their community is literally begging for it and they do nothing about it. They don’t care. They don’t listen. Just say “maybe in a future update”.

also this

Constructive criticism is a wonderful thing, but repeating the same complaint is neither constructive nor even really criticism; it is becoming a part of the problem.
On the other hand, most people respect a valid dissenting opinion and possible solutions... in other words, discussing (rather than ranting)

Trust is always exploitable. Even if there were a lend system (incidentally, +1 if it works as advertised), there would still be many many ways to take advantage of people.
On the lending of items, no, its not a good idea, it leaves you vulnerable, but in almost all cases, the "scammer" is (or represents (as in shamming)) someone who has always been trustworthy.
Ban all scammers, non-scammers and potential scammers (AKA EVERYONE), solve the root of the problem
 Why have I not thought of this sooner???

If there’s going to be loaned items there must be some why that you know instantly just by looking at in item in a trade menu that that item is a loaned item. This would prevent people from ‘loaning’ and item when they other player things their selling it to them.

loan systems wouldn’t work in ch, due to clan banking systems that exist and have also been exploited on other threads in the past.

generals also exploit and steal. Forget the trust part totally irrelevant.

You would have greedy general bankers locking all items ON LOAN.

You need neutrality.

People simply need to have morals and stop being greedy assholes.
Theft in a game IS THEFT!!!

We have ss of the player logging in and saying
“According to the tos all trades are final”

With this it’s abundantly clear they borrowed to keep. When found with damning evidence like this accounts need items returned from recent trades and permenantly deleted.

ToS currently has me believeing that theft in the real world goes unpunished. Great lesson you’re teaching to kids.

^You don't call the police when you loan a "friend" your favourite video game and he never returns it. You gave it to him and trusted him to give it back, but he didn't.

Just a life lesson, that we should learn from..

Though I totally agree with what you said about people needing morals. All of these problems start with people who care nothing for others. Luckily, they usually don't get anywhere in the real world, though I know that's little consolation.

In the UK you can take somebody (friend or foe) to the small claims court for as little as £10... so
unpaid debt - theft.
Borrowing with intent to keep - theft.
