Make player shops available in this game... And designate tavern as the only place you will be able to set up shop and afk without being kicked out...
With player shops, ppl can sell and buy items, tavern will be full of players checking out items for sale...

Player shops are kinda essential to mmorpgs, don't know why CH doesn't have it...

I absolutely agree with this. Make tavern the only place in game without an AFK timer. Players with full inventories may travel there for free even if they are over encumbered and would be able to "set up shop" or a trading stand or whatever you'd like to call it. The player then would be more like an NPC to other players where they may inspect the player and see a list of available items for sale. The player selling would be able to assign gold amounts to each trade-able item.

Perhaps there could even be an auction house of sorts located at the tavern. So you could give items to an NPC there and list a minimum bid and pay some sort of % Tax for the amount of time you would want the item to be up for auction. Like a super cheap 1% for the first 24 hours then an additional 1% tax for each additional hour you want the auction to run for. Kind of like the auction house system in Diablo III.

This would make tavern way more popular as players from all levels would travel there often to buy sell trade and even just browse. They could see a good item for a super cheap, place a bid, and wait to see if they got it or not. If the auction house was only accessible while inside the tavern it would become an instant hot spot!

Auction House has been planned and is to be released in Update 4 along with Crafting, etc as it seems to fit together.

I would really like to see a bazaar type atmosphere straight from ErverQuest 1 if anyone is familiar. It was just a giant player sitting area with hundreds of shops and a nifty filter system to browse everything and find its location within the area. Was a very social place where people discussed prices and game related stuf like quests. You could always travel to that zone and know you'd see a bunch of players. It was NEVER empty. If this forum is discussing ways to popularize the tavern then inplement player stalls as an offshoot function of the proposed auction house. Have the added benefit of no taxes if your player stays in the tavern. If you're offline then tax. Foot traffic to tavern would rise dramatically and the zone would stay active for the games foreseeable future. You have to give players an incentive to WANT to check the tavern or WANT to stay there.

Also bar fighting like previously mentioned. This would be epic an would add to the social tavern side. Post comments please! Let's get ideas out there!

Ok so first of great! Ideas!

I reckon the beverage idea is nice and I was thinking that they can be bought and actually taken into battle! So once u kill something u can eat a piece of bread or chicken and u would regen a lot faster, also if these could added to ur hotbar that would be fantastic I would buy thousends of these. Here are my ideas for items in wich can be sold at the tavern.............

EATING-----HEALTH REGEN
Bread-50 gold-3 health regen affect
Chicken-150 gold-5 health regen affect
Steak-300 gold- 7 health regen affect
Bag of potatoes-500 gold-10 regen affect

DRINKING-----ENERGY REGEN
Water-50 gold-3 energy regen affect
Tea-150 gold-5 energy regen affect
Juice-300 gold-7 energy regen affect
Milk-500 gold-10 energy regen affect

2 Good affect/Bad affect
Cake-100 gold-Speeds you up for 3 minutes by 40% but then slows u down by 60% for 3 minutes
Thick shake-250 gold-increases your size by 70% but then slows u down to 50%
Rum-500 gold-increases ur speed by 40% but then makes ur vision 20% blurry

Haha hey guys if u realy like my ideas gimme a 1+ and hopefully if you do like them admin can imply maybe some of this threads ideas into the game!!!! :mrgreen:

I like the food ideas, it kinda ties into the suggestions about cooking earlier. I really like the good/bad effect foods, some of which don't even necessarily help you, but are just for fun, like the thick shake. I like the idea of "fun" foods, it could really give the Tavern more of a constant party atmosphere

I love the idea on player vending! But instead of just going and getting a little stand to sell stuff, you have to buy the stand. Also the more expensive stand you buy, the more items you could vend at one time. For example:

Stand 1) 5k to buy, can sell up to 5 items at once
Stand 2) 10k to buy, can sell up to 10 items at once
Stand 3) 15k to buy, can sell up to 15 items at once

And so on... this way you won't have some guy sitting in the corner lagging up the game, when all he's selling is 1 clover.

The tax% could be, 3% if your online, 5% if your offline. Though that would only work if the afk ban was lifted in the vender area.

Pros:
Would help players gain needed items much quicker
Would be a valuable spot to make friends and let the CH world prosper ( like a village square )
Would be an overall fun and helpful place to go

Cons:
May lag the area and nearby areas
May be a decrease in plat sales ( players could by plat items for cheap gold there )
Would take one hell of a long time to make it
