I have a lvl 120 plus Mage and have a few suggestions:

1a) Change the cool down time and conversion rate of sacrifice. Eg 50 hp for 300 energy & increasing the cool down time so it's not too op
1b) same as above and make sure sacrifice come only from hp not from energy shield etc
2) reduce the energy cost of energy shield significantly and make sure sacrifice only comes from hp
3) the obvious one further reduce cost of spells due to the Mage not being able to make decent auto damage.

I'm a level 140+ Mage and can and will say our energy usage and skills are all over priced.
So over priced that I solved how to get around it.
Thanks to double plat I now am a proud owner of 800+ health and Magic sigils.
This in turns makes my Mage a God.
I also have a few tricks to my playstyle to make the most of my energy but that's for a later time.
But I feel all of your mages pain as it really is rediculous. Tea's an idiot don't listen to anything he says about maxing skills, as any other class (besides Druids) has all their attack skills maxed because they cost no MP at all to cast compared to a maxed mages attack spell.
But I will say I do find success in not maxing stats but that's only because Mages actually have good skills that you'll want to spread points out to make the most of them all.
Each time a new patch comes out I always get a huge let down as they only patch or tweak Rangers apparently...
Well I don't even want to get started on that so I'll leave it at that.
Mages spells cost to much period.
A 1/4 reduction would be ideal IMO.

Iam really hating this energy crisis for mages and some druids. This made me quit my mage and make a new ranger because mages r completely worthless now. If you lot expect all mages to buy hundred of sigils to keep up our energy then that is just plain bonkers. Hope to all mages out there with not enough energy to even blink ;) :x :cry: ... Fix this Please :!:

uhm... Teaweasel? I very respectfully disagree. Playing a mage, with kick ass lux and sigils, I still run out of energy. Why am I NOT entitled to max my skills? I agree that it is about balance, but really, no other class has this type of problem. My tank has a little issue getting health up, but you know, it regens a LOT faster than my mage's energy (despite it having no lux, and no sigils). To top it off, people will "drive-by heal" because anyone can heal. My mage stands around for torturously long minutes waiting to regenerate. If I don't max my skills, I die. trust me, I have bought stats books and tried different things. This is the most effective way to play. I don't always play in a group, so I need to be able to train on my own. in OW, which is the only place that I get xp anymore (except boss runs) My wand damage is too low (and it is maxed because I train it, I have a good wep, and an awesome ring of wands) to kill the mob before my health runs out, I need to give it two shots (fire and ice, ice is almost maxed, fire is) then kill off the mob using my wand. My health is then aproximately half, but my energy is half as well. one more mob, and I've run dry. Make a mage, play it to a high level, and decide for yourself. Trust me, having a warrior, and a mage, and a druid... I kinda know which is my problem children (so to speak) and my mage is still my favourite by the way, despite the problems. But... if this problem would be solved, or just slightly improved... I would be able to make a difference in a boss run. sorry, a LONG term difference.

Ok I am trying a new build and I just did a boss fight and never ran out of energy while casting continuously for 15 min, but only because we had great tanks.

Sacrifice 16
Bandage Wounds 22
I never got agro so never had to cast my shield which is at 24

But as you can see I have 62 points into defence and regeneration. which leaves only 43 points for attack skills. So my Fire lure stinks and I have no ice ability at all. So much for mages being a DPS class.
I have no sigils.

I also can regen all my energy in 2 min so my time between mobs is down greatly.

But I am a wimp.
