We can take all bosses in Otherworld apart from Aggragoth with just 1 of our top healers, and have done so. We have no problems at all with taking bosses with just our clan, however, when not all of our dps is online, it is easy enough for another clan to out dps and get the kill. However, if another clan doesn't FFA, we are able to take any boss at any time.
I actually had respect for Avalon the way they take bosses. But to find out how immature and up themselves some of their members are, has kinda put me off a bit haha.![]()

#32Simple fix to all this ksing stuff is just unite. But you probibly cant so this is why you complain about ks. KS is not a word in the dictionary it is a player term. This does not exist the game is a Free for All game like most MMORPG'S. If you want to win kills have the upper hand or supperior players. Go on recruiting drives or merge clans OR level up to max OR have the tank outside group then have a dps group. There is a way there was a way there is always a way. Ok so please get off the topic of ks thank you nothing will be done to change this. :|

Someone was making an assumption. I see your point but, you also have ksing greifers that make it hard for people to level and then ones that do it on bosses which low levels don't really have to worry about, I think both forms should be identified because they both seem to be problems for alot of players but, not all.

Please understand, 1 toon does not make a clan. We have enough DPS to take all bosses. We don't, however, always have enough DPS online to out-dps another clan, even when we have rogues and healers and are able to take the boss easily without being FFA'd, and the other clan doesn't.'you may as well of left no comment in my opinion.'
Anyone that actually likes it how it is, or 9/10ths of the people.. Are from KSing clans themselves, or clans that are the only boss-taking clan on their servers. A change in how boss kills are awarded would have no downside.. It would encourage people to tank and heal. Would have a downside in Druids ksing from healing? No. Because a balanced group would still have a tank taking aggro and doing the damage. Would have a downside in tanks coming along and trying to hold aggro.. How is that a downside?? I would like to see something to do with whoever tanks the majority of the fight getting the boss kill, or something like that. 1 thing is not going to please everyone. I'm sure if it gets changed their are going to be a lot of unhappy ksers out there. But in my opinion.. A balanced bossing group shouldn't have to worry about another clan coming along and taking the kill.

#40First of all, to those of you who insist on casting a negative light around purchasing plat, keep in mind, this game, that you obviously like enough, to not only log in and play, but also post about on the Internet, takes money. Everyone who gets enjoyment out of the game should spend some money on it. I guess I come from a different generation. My first MMO was 1999 and at that time, the online games I knew of (Asheron's Call, Ultima Online, Everquest) all had a monthly subscription. So to me it is just to be expected. So, I get upset when I see negative comments about plat purchasing, where does this "I demand something for nothing" attitude come from?
Perhaps the developers should put a donation option in the Item Shop so people who do not want to buy plat, but want to contribute (if any people fit this description) can do so.
Now, on topic:
I nominate an idea which we have discussed previously in other threads as a starting point.
I propose we begin by first changing the group mechanics in such a way where a player can be booted from the group by a majority or unanimous vote from the other members. I think many people (myself included) have become hesitant to group people we do not know, or take risks on players we have had bad experiences in the past with. But if a group knew they could kick someone out if their behavior is poor, or if in allowing one person in, you are blindsided because they happened to be grouped to someone you do not want in, some of these problems (not all) would go away.
Now, this system will not be perfect either because people will be on the forums complaining that they get booted by groups just before a mob is dead. But at least this adds some player accountability and ability to police things a bit better. At some point we have to decide if we want to play a game where other people affect the atmosphere and culture. Perhaps for some people, this is not the genre of game best for them.
Now, what do we do about someone starting something and then others running up and ks'ing it. Again, I think we should start with implementing control over groups. If we had a way to control who is in a group, people would be more willing to accept invites and in turn, invite others. This on its own will not eliminate KS'ing though.
But the question in my mind is, would any mechanic to prevent KS'ing have more upside than downside? On my server, we have a culture that whoever hits first has first dibs, if they do not want to invite others, they are not obligated, sure many stonevale pests will spam group invites, even jump in there as well, and yes, these people will be the same whiners crying KS when someone jumps in on their mob. But, for the most part the system works. People will wait and then help out most of the time, adding dps from outside. Occasionally, people will see someone rush in on purpose to claim something, and when this rusher is someone who cannot solo it, we might just watch them meet their peril rather than help. Then it is the next group or player on the scene's turn. Often times the original player(s) who died will rush back and claim KS even though upon their death the mob has reset before we begin, those players I just block so I know never to group them.
So, in describing all of this, I think it is likely that in the event say a level 60-70 rushes in to claim one of the Wisp Bosses, and there is another group waiting, that group would be far less likely than in the present state of the game to assist or even KS. More likely they will watch to see if the player dies, if they do, they will take their turn and not accept the first player to attack into their group. I know I would not want them in my group because this helps teach people not to be greedy or treat the game like a single player, rather it encourages people to be polite and social and to form and join clans, and so on....
