So the new plan for bosses now is:

Get a tank to the boss, start the fight,
Druids follow, start healing tank,
Then dps turns up whenever they want.

Boss dies at any point when the dps arrives. No other clan needs bother get involved due to the fact that the tank and druids are guaranteed the drop.

Silly idea, this will be really unfair imo.

Please stop listening to one or two whingers who want am easy life.

I have an opinion on target locks, but I'm not going to share it in this post ;) Whether we like it or not, target lock is coming in the next update. Would it not be a whole lot more constructive to wait til it makes it through beta and see what it's like?

Most of these arguments are based on speculation. CH has never had target lock before, and nobody knows for sure how it will work out. If we wait to criticize it until we see these flaws actually happen, I think OTM will be much more receptive to feedback. It's impossible to give feedback on something that hasn't happened yet :)

That said, I have no problem with speculation and like I said, I have an opinion but I have no reason to share it at this point :D

Are u serious? Have u ever check who the people are who are complaining about being ksed? Most of the people accusing me of ksing are tryin to kill mobs that are 20-30lvls higher than theirselves which is basically impossible. I have seen the wierdest reasons for being called a kser. one time a guy was just standing next to a mob doin nothing. after i killed it he asked me why do u ks? i was like wth is your problem u dont want me to kill any mobs at all?

I think H3ro is just right that most of the people here who omplain about being ksed just dont want to work for their stuff.
I dont see how target lock will bring more competition to this game and it will cause a lot of problems when ppl are trying to lvl on elixirs.

Another thing i want to point out is that i know many people who ks sometimes but its part of this game. one time u win one time u lose. its not like people always ks so they prevent others from lvling but its all about the GOLD. Thats prolly the main reason why a lot of higher lvl players are still killing the lower lvl bosses. its one of the best ways to make gold right now without spending a lot of real money. Just give the higher lvl players a better way to make some gold and your problem is solved.
just look at the gold drops of ow bosses and compare them to the gold drops of sv bosses or even defectors its just pathetic.

in my opinion this target lock will completely ruin the game try to find a better solution...

@brookie its will be same competion(or even more ) , your claming rangers will hold bosses, yea like 50 lvls lower then
them
Can a lvl 150class hold aggy till clan comes ... Can anyone (one toon ) hold a boss same lvl as boss ...
Dont forget skills will be tuned / tweaked cuz new lock system
New bosses prob will have higher crying range , or stronger rang shots ....
Your comparing lock system what we have now , same like ppl were comparing update 2 vs 3
So lets wait and see iam sure if its as bad as you guys think it will be removed (lol without even knowing all detailed )
Not everyone plays the game with same goals
Some just to chat , some to be the best (lvl, heal, dps) some to relax after days work , not all are hard core players
Iam for competion :-) i think will will be more chalanging , about idols compare when your were killing lava at 120 ish IMO same will be used (when all jump in to win kill no one wants to tank so its idols left and right ...)

Eh, I wanna know how ffa would work..... Our world has ffa rules, but if a tank can just hold a boss for a few minutes with restoration pots, while you wait for clannies to show up, i think thats just complete bull.
I will occasionly browse the forums, but for the most part im done.

There is a lot of heated opinions about the target lock solution to the KSing problem.

I think the biggest problem for KSing is when an appropriate group (group of 4 lvl 100's taking on Falgren for example) who work together, maintain aggro and have a legitimate chance of killing him (with a few idols, pots, whatever) can be KS'd by a lvl 140 rogue lurking and waiting for them to start. That is a failure from a game design perspective. I am not saying this happens all the time but it has happened and will continue to happen.

The result of this bad game design is that those four players, potential plat buyers, leave the game due to the "brokenness" of the DPS kill rules. It's a game, people play games to enjoy them. It's not enjoyable to play in a game system that rewards griefers. That is why OTM is implementing this. It's not a punishment for people being able to dominate in the current system. It is a solution to a flawed game mechanic.

Celtic Heroes is growing into a main stream MMO and they want to attract as many new players as possible. New players have no chance at competing with the maxed level heroes that are in game now. The "level up" answer is not applicable, they have absolutely no chance.

I trust OTM to make this change interesting for the existing players. They are learning their lessons from other MMOs. With the coding implemented to do this the possibilities open up for triggered events in boss fights among other things. OTM is committed in making a great game for us and if there are issues they listen to the negative feedback and improve things from there.

This will complety back fire. To otm Im recently playing as tank and can have 2 druids online to keep me alive and use resto pots this is a easy will be a nigthmare. For people with multiple devices Will be ideal way to play a tank 2 druids and you hord all the bosses .

I will like to see a better solution , like dps+ damage taken formula , meaning ppl gettig hit counts to kill that way ppl will figth for aggro meaning no more tank and druids group. And more balances groups with tanks druids and dps on them.

The old system after update 2 was bad because those were real ks meaning u only have to hit 1 once and them calm yourself and you will ks full clans when they get kill , I did ks multiple times back then. Thissyztem now is no bad if you guys just add damage taken to the formula this will be fair game and increase the win kill after 35% damage done meaning a weak clan is slow killing after 35% comes. A bigger clan they cant ks.

So you tell me that lava wasnt camped but top clans when no one had frozen wep .... Not just a tanker and druid but the whole clan vs other clan alot were camping now just timer pop in with on alt ( players get tired camping so let there gaurd down ) so with out lock 20+ players camp lava , with lock same thing both clans will have tanker and druids
Now about elixir problem fail .... What's stopping him from killing mobs were u training right now so dont blame lock ...
But a few down side about lock ....
1) calm tanker -.-..... Hmmm group calm ??
2) try to get aoe mob into them
3) lava fire
4) try to reset boss
5) power lvling now i dont have to fear out dpsing my rouge

Now what lock will open up is more ppl will try/use dirty tactics ....
To wipe out lock group

So top clan will have there fights and leveling any class will be great
No more picking on noobs or a group that started sv boss

The biggest problem with the wait and see method is that this will probably be embedded deep into the code which will prevent a quick remove and will probably have to wait for another update which could take months of living with a system nobody likes. This in the end makes the game miserable for those who don't like it and quit during the time i takes to fix it.

Also like some people are thinking lets just see how they do it may be good but most likely wont be.

With the target lock u remove the need for more dps since a warrior and a few druids will be able to hold every boss. Even now one tank and 3 druids can hold all bosses except for aggargoth. So whats going to happen when a small group never lets others into the group and hoards drops since they dont really need the others in the group anymore except to help speed it up. Withou the fear of ksing more smaller groups will show up and cause more complaining on the forums probably mostly from ppl complaining about ksing right now.
