Re: Mage or Rogue and the real state of CH now?

#31
Quite variable, we have a 221 ice mage a 220 fire mage and some 220+ rogues, the ice mage and the rogues tend to trade off pretty equally on kills for edl, rogues usually get mord/hrung kills, but mages rule the event bosses.
I'm puzzled. I thought fire mages have better long term dps? Also, I dont see how mages can outdps rogues since rogues have crazy autos. Can someone give me some numbers on a particular end game boss? Thanks
It's impossible to know. For one no one is going to have recorded particular dmg numbers on particular bosses. That and keeping track of dmg numbers would simply be for bragging rights. Some bosses are more resistant to heat or cold, so a fire mage/ice mage might do well on one boss but not another. You might need to go lure mage for bosses for awhile in which your dps won't be good but you make the kill go much faster.

Ss and qs can be avoided a lot by bosses with high evasions. Then you might hit ss for 800 one time and then 1100 the next and then have 2 evades.

You're going to be spending most of your time lvling. The real question is which will you be more happy with all those hours of lixing/xp grinding. I think you're over thinking this. Spend a week playing one and then a week playing the other class. See which you enjoy the most.

I've played my mage and rogue for 2 months at least each. I prefer mage because they have more skills to use and hit hard but levelling sucks for it. Im a dps maniac yet want to help the team as much as possible without sacrificing dps.

certain bosses are weak to fire or ice which gives mages advantage over rogues even with max lure of assassins.
