Its pretty easy atm to get from 0-220. Did it in 4 weeks while being busy irl on gwyd after I xfered there. Of course it will take longer for those without the gold supply I had at start, but for any dedicated player (as in they will spend time leveling instead of castle camping, not dedicated as in they put game over real life) they can get to 220 in 2 months. This is a lot easier than it used to be and imo probably the easiest it should get.
Right now I'm leveling another toon with a much more limited gold supply (Blew out my gold on my war) and have it at 130 atm. With the new XP curve leveling is just too easy.

Now I'm -1 on the idea for dbl xp just because its too chaotic and leads to drama over lixing spots. Best to stick with bounties, mini events, and the expected double plat.
Level 220 in two months for someone who starts off is a stretch.

Possible if they are hardcore gamers like you've said and buy plat.
your prob right about 2 months being a stretch, 4 months is a lot more likely, but even then I don't think thats really a lot.
I never understood people disagreeing tbh. I grinded my levels from scratch and I hated it. I did it because
I knew what was waiting at endgame. New players don't and will simply leave as there are many MMORPGS. Whether you find it easy or not the casual players aren't interested in spending 4 months reaching endgame period. Even a lot
Or hardcore players aren't as they would basically rather grind anything else

If so they won’t last at EG. They will play long enough to take resources from bank and then quit with them. Leveling ensures that only somewhat interested gamers make it to EG. IMO that’s the way I see it with every MMO. Drops matter more and more closer you get to EG, and lvling gets harder and harder. It’s less so that it’s harder because rewards are better but more so that drops are better and rarer so leveling acts as a demand indicator. For those with the drive they will level up.

If someone can’t spend 4 months casually leveling they won’t be playing the game for more than 5 months.
I get where you are coming from, but players who will quit after 5 months aren’t really the type that EG clans want and aren’t typically players who will be constructive to the community. CH is a long term social mmo, and as such I think the game should be built in a way to encourage long term players over short term players.

People play MMORPG's to boss. People will grind bosses for months on other MMO's and may hate leveling. I would rather an inflow of players and make it easier then to have a dieing endgame player base personally.

I think the amount of leveling required discourages a decent amount of players from making it to end game. Leveling is really nothing more than sitting on your couch and pressing the same couple of buttons over and over again for hours upon hours. It's a fairly mindless, repetitive (and frankly boring) activity. In other MMOs, a lot of levels are obtained through quests. CH is essentially one quest that says "dear fabled warrior, come back when you've killed 99,972,356 mobs" and then you're end game.

I hated leveling. It took me almost 3 years to hit 220. So I don't think having such a high level cap or can someone spend 900 hours on their couch killing mobs is really a good determiner if end game quality. I think a large number of players would be active bosses but get burnt out lixing before they get there.

Gotta agree to this. Other mmos offer quests to get to endgame, unlike CH. so lvling is very painful and I wouldn’t mind a double exp boost for a week

I think CH needs a massive quest and mid game content expansion. The difficulty is that they would have to do this as well as enhance eg content, but being a small studio they have not been able to adequately do this. Most games make it so that mid game is actually a stage of the game and there is actually stuff to do mid game. In CH everything is either lixing or its EG prep, there is no unique mid game content like special quests etc... I think this is why players get burnt out more so than how long it takes. Rather its that they haven't yet reached EG and it takes time and there is nothing to do while they get there.
However, I have to disagree that this is the sole reason. Many MMO players hate doing quests for good reasons. They are less boring than dry grinding or "lixing," true, but it takes way longer and can be more frustrating. I think the XP curve is well set up for lixing. It takes about 400 lixs from 1-220, with half of that being from 200-220. Thats 100 hours of game play (30 days a month on avg, that means 3 months of an hour a day lixing, not that bad). For players who prefer grinding or lixing I think thats a fair time requirement, however I do agree that CH is heavily lacking in quests, and I would even add in mid game content to make there be less of a need to rush to EG. OTM thought that they could replace mid game by rushing players to EG, but this was a poor trade. Maybe VR can fix what OTM screwed up and make the game a longer term game and add in viable mid game content.
