Wow I guess you all do have the same Drama what we have.

well I don't care for the whole KS thing and avoid it myself.(at least with out good justification)

But I don't want to see Rogues get Nerfed again over this.

Yes Druids should get credit for their part of a boss fight; heals, buffs, everything. so should all the classes in group. mages for their buffs/debuffs damage. rogues rangers for skills cast; bolos smokebomb. all these things take down the boss, so kill credit should be based on it all. I dont know how to do it but its what should be done. If my rogue or even group of rogues do more to take out the boss than the mixed group then they should get it. but if the mixed groups total work, including all skill use had a greater effect/value in the defeat of the boss, then the mixed group should get the kill.

remember a rogue dpsing and avoiding being hit by distracting or other sneaky tricks it what a rogue is all about. a rogue makes up for what he lacks in armor and hp by avoiding a direct fight.

its fifferent than that macro... this is a discussion about our world...

Blrd is a trouble maker on our world and im sure a lot wishes he would just quit

and its funny how sin on our world whines about how they get ksed and want different setups when they even agreed to our terms and respect's terms.
I have plenty to say but i manage to hold back the majority of it :) This is not a discussion about our world, this is about how boss ffa's are won. Please keep this on topic. If your post does not relate to the topic, do not post.

Wow this topic again.
I am going to try to solve the entire problem and make everyone happy. (OK, stop laughing)

Summary:
  • 1. Some people like the challenge of a good old fashioned KS match. So you will never be able to please everyone.
    2. Some just like the thrill of screwing somebody else out of their hard work just because they can.
    3. All it takes is a few jerks to ruin it for everyone.
    4. A desire exists to protect the lower level toons who are just trying to get their quests from higher levels with delusions of godhood.
    5. “I am here to play a game, to have fun, not to deal with a lot of drama, I have a life full of drama I don’t want it here.”
Some proposals have been:
  • Method 1. Total damage -Whoever does the most damage gets the kill (or a variant is Whoever has Agro at death gets the kill) this is our existing system.
    Method 2. First Hit –First person or group to hit after a spawn or reset gets the kill (this is the common honor system and defines a KS)
    Method 3. Contribution -Use a credit system to measure how each person contributed to the kill and distribute rewards accordingly.
So how do we address all the issues?
Proposal: have multiple systems depending on the mob/area
  • Method 1: Total damage -Any 4-6 star mob that is NOT specifically required for a quest. (Basically all 4 and 5 star mobs since most 6 star mobs are quest related)
    Method 2: First Hit -Any mob with 3 stars or less (solves most KS problems)
    Method 3: Contribution -Any 4-6 star mob that is specifically required for a quest. (For the most part this means most 6 star mobs.) Drop schedule can also be taken into account so those who need the drops get priority over those who have already finished the quest. (There needs to be a minimum contribution to get credit. We don’t want someone to walk up to falgren and throw a single punch at the end and get a dragon.)

Well wait a bit for our feedback before startig a petition :) (for those of us who can follow you heheh)

Yes I like it.

I was hoping to see something like an "intention to fight" button when you select a mob for 4 star and under and push the button so you can take 20 seconds to recharge before you have to fight it an it still works like your "first hit" proposal.

Either way I would support your petition.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?

This is the issue.
Currently it is whoever does the most damage. I want it to be changed having the winner be whoever gets the most agro. This way druids healing will be included.

Druids contributions are not in the damage equation....

That is why I proposed the contribution method. Why just druid heals? Why not bolas? They contribute also. Why not mages healing the druids energy? Why not ..... See my point. Once you go there for heals you need to involve everyone.

This identifies one problem that has been discussed very little.

If you have ever played with two devices you know that there is a 1 to 2 second lag between those two devices. So in the honor system both people can think they got first hit and both can think the other person is trying to KS them. Having the server decide who has first hit solves the problem.
There is also the issue that rogues and warriors can easily mistake a mob as not engaged with a druid mage or ranger when in fact it the battle has already commenced. Your proposal of claiming commitment would help with that but ranged classes are so used to be being accidentally KSed we just live with it.
