i find it interesting that the biggest argument for not changing falgren is that is would destroy the economy. I read this as high levels can easily kill falgren and sell the dragons. quite frankly, i find this an appalling reason not to change something that causes so much grief and frustration.

All the other fragments (as well as tabs, rems, and crests) seem to be obtainable via reasonable methods in a reasonable time frame.

I recently was camping falgren for an alt. I tend to be fairly generous - so i would let anyone over level 75 (range 75-100) who was hanging at fal join me. Some other high levels (115+) were sometimes annoyed, but i was there first and formed the grp and that was how it was. Once i got what i needed, i stopped camping. The fascinating thing is i am getting ppl begging me to come camp, cause other high levels (over 110) won't let them join.

Given the way armour upgrades work. The game should be structured so that ppl can complete their warden quest by level 80 (without being essentially forced to buy their quest items). In other words, if you play a fair amount and can get groups together and are willing to use idols, you should be able to get your armour - which in this case means getting falgren and dragon disks. Increasing falgen spawns and number of dragons he drops is a good step in the right direction - but i am not certain it is enough.

If we don't want to go to a NO-TRADE system how about something like this:

1. To get warden armour (bp and wep), you must complete Evil in Stonevale (i.e. kill falgen at least once). Then, in addition to falgen dropping dragons (and maybe increase it to min. 2 dragons), have other bosses drop them also (spirehoof, starspell - and perhaps, more rarely, ph5 red guys, atrisol, fairy queen, etc.). Make dragon frags a bit rarer than something like a diamond soul orb - something many ppl will get, but not easy to obtain.

--OR--

2. you could also let brutus have multiple or random spawn points - that way a lower level could run into them and get a group before the high levels catch on. Kinda like the quest wisps - they show up all over the place and being level 140 is not gonna give you an advantage until you actually find the thing.

I think honestly this entire thread is a bit premature.

It's gonna take a few weeks for the influx of new Dragons into the game's economy to take effect. I would guess that now there are 2-3x more dragon drops on servers...it will take time but demand will lower with increased supply. And prices will sink. I personally see a Dragon Frag price plummeting to 30k or so in less than a month. Till you get that, you can complete your meteoric gloves, boots, helm, pants, and at 120 complete yer frozen pieces of those sets as well.

As the game's economy changes you can buy the Dragon's you need.

Do you remember the bottleneck of Update 3? All the quest mob's, the ents, the different things? Sure OTM tweaked stuff but now after the bottleneck is passed the statue quests are easy because few are doing them all at once...we need time to pass to unclog this bottleneck of the last 8 months. Then I am sure the system will work fine.

Think about it this way if the person that might get the drag and doesnt need it the would have to drop it since they can not trade. Wouldnt that be wasteful? So I disagree with this idea.
Ya, it would make it so people wanted to form groups with people who also needed the dragon frag. But ya mabye he would have to drop more dragons to make up for it a bit, like min of 2 dragons per drop instead of 1.

And Teaweasel, good point. But it is going to be a long road on this one. Fairy bottleneck was a few days. Gem (ambers selling for 500 and tigers eyes a few k) and ent bottleneck was a few weeks. Stone bottleneck was instant because of the drastic change. My guess is by the time all the high level clans outfit all thier members (and future members) with dragons at the new rate, mabye a year from now we will be at a decent steady state.

My vote is to make the change a bit more drastic like the no-trade on the dragons and increase it to a min of 2 dragons per drop so the bottleneck could be over sooner.

Just think how cool it would be if fal dropped at least 2 no trade dragons every time (and still dropped tradeable papers and crown disks) . It would then be really fun to complete the quest.

no, because then the greed factor of things would get worse, low levels wouldnt even be able to buy drags-

the high level wont group them because the group will be full of clannies who need drags

the existing drags that are gained before the making of future drags no trade would become huge demand among clans and would sell for extortionate prices

making drags no trade would turn the bottleneck into a cork stop

Interesting take pigman heh.

I see your points but do dissagree. First of all fal isn't extrordinarily hard if your willing to use a couple idols. 2 high levels (110+) with a group full of 60-80's should be able to kill him easily. So if fal dropped 2 no trade dragons, chance is 1 of the lowbies (and the 110's probably still need too lol) would get a dragon.

A lvl 140- 150 would not camp fal and solo it because he knows he cant just stack the drag in the clan bank lol, so the 140+'s won't be camping fal anymore, but they will come to a clannies aid when he sees fal, which is how it should be.

yes, my point is high levels will not group out of clan for fear of losing a drop a clannie or alt in group needs, and since the drags are no longer tradable- nobody can buy drags to avoid the horror that is trying to obtain them yourself

i appreciate what youre trying to do but dont see this as a viable option

But I don't think the high levels would waste their time camping it anymore if drags were no trade, so it will be lowbies that need drags who find fal.

From there whether or not the high level that comes will group anyone else is up to them. But at least there won't be a 140 standing there when he spawns (in all likelyhood)

i disagree, i have asked around and the general consensus is that fal would be over camped to get your clan the kill and the people who need drags outfitted, most high levels camp fal to equip clannies and alts- extras go into the market

this would create fierce competition over the fal kills and remove any discs from the market that people not in high clans could have bought
