Here's a couple tips.. and no I haven't gotten the white hat and I've decided not to. but that being said here is my two cents:

- The blue hat sparkles. So if you want a sparkly hat, you only need 810 pumpkins. I'm stopping here because I think it looks good with my outfit.

- Start early. If you are planning on doing this, start today. Waiting until the last week won't benefit you any because you will be scrambling and trying to fit all your collecting in at once.

- Break it up into chunks. Don't look at the 7,290 total, just look at the next hat you have to get. So if your goal is another blue hat, you need 9 blue hats to finish the quest, and 810 pumpkins per hat. Just take it a step at a time. Also, figure out how many hats you need per day to finish by the Dec 20th deadline. I'm taking a week off, but even doing that I only need to get 162 pumpkins per day to get a white hat.
