From what the admins have said in the past, the entire programming team is working on fixes, just like you want.^+1 as much as i would love new content/maps i agree that that should be put on hold so all lag and current problems can be fixed
But that doesn't mean that OTM can't also work on new content. As an admin (I forget who) said recently, the programmers are not the same people who build the content. The programmers build the engine, while the deign team does things like build the 3D models and animations as well as zone layouts, progression of mobs, create the new items and NPCs and write the new quests. Basically the programmers build the app you run and the software that runs on the servers, and the design team makes the content you see and interact with in the game.
So, everyone who can work on fixing the client is, but everyone else still doing their jobs at the same time.
Basically, it's your lucky day! You get both a stable game and new content! Now stop complaining please, it's getting annoying.
I made my statement because as important as new content is, being able to log in and play the game is more important than what's in it. Why would anyone who spends even $5 on something sit back, then smile and nod knowing full well what they just purchased doesn't work quite right. Would you throw down $200 knowing one, two or more of your devices are unplayable? To me it's like buying a pair of shoes in the wrong size, yes you have them and can look at them, but if you cannot wear them they don't do much except look pretty.
They can put devices in the hands of the non-programmers and test content before they push it out. They may have 10 people who know nothing about coding but I am confident know how to power up an ipod and with the numbers dwindling daily, this is how game companies die off as people find something else to do. People who are paying customers have every right to complain, go take a look at any gaming companies forums and you will see plenty of complaints ranging from completely valid to way off base, it's part of business. What separates companies is how well they deal with issues that arise with their product.
I like a lot of things about the game, but I typically use my wallet to express my approval by dropping $100 or more on plat. There is a lot right with the game, there is a lot that still needs work. I hope they get the issues ironed out soon and we can get back to playing the game we all love or else we wouldn't be here. Either way people have a right to express their opinions be they negative or positive, if you don't like the tv show, change the channel.
