As i think about it - maybe the death penalty has an upside. Remember, we have target lock now. this means some low level could potentially lock a boss they are unsuited to. However, the death penalty means that eventually, the low group would be wiped out most likely - and release the lock.

I thought i would give a rundown on many of the armors you will see now. I by no means cover everything, but the popular ones you are likely to see or consider as you hit lvl 80+. I am only giving a very rough overview - no real stats and such. Also, many aspects are still changing and being finalized. I will post a more detailed guide after the update is released.

Finally, since I am a ranger, i only looked at ranger armor. However, other class armor should be comparable.

I have listed the armors in order of 'power' - for some of the armors, there may be some quibbling about the order - but it is close enough. I based it on pure armor/resist - not on other factors (like bonuses and such). For some people, the resist may not be as important as other factors.

Finally, the armor types have a (q) or (v) to indicate quest armor vs. vendor armor that you can buy. I think it is really cool that you can get decent armor via quest - you don't have to buy/collect tabs/rems/crests (or camp for them) or spend tons for vendor armor and still get decent armor.

Warden (q): (plus attack, resist shadow, full set bonus)
Flint (v): (dex and foc bonus)
Topaz (v): (dex and foc bonus)
Onyx (q): (health bonus)
Opal (v): (dex and foc bonus)
Meteoric (q): (plus attack, resist shadow, full set bonus)
Obsidian (q): (health bonus)
Adamant (v): (dex and foc bonus)
Frozen (q): (attack, evasion, energy and full set bonus)
Low Bone (q) (health and energy bonus)
Low Bone (v) (dex and foc bonus)
High Bone (q) (health and energy bonus)
High Bone (v) (dex and foc bonus)
Dragonlod (q) (set bonus, health, energy, skill bonus)

The set bonuses are nice, but you may have to be cautious about if/when you upgrade your set bonus armor so that you don't lose the bonus. Likewise, you will have to reconsider things like haste gloves and Earthstone gear that will break the set and eliminate the bonus.

So many choices to make... Should be great fun seeing all the variety and how people make their decisions!

Blah this is too hard for my simple brain to read and understand.
Nerfed Mage ~140
Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

Copy this sig! :)

Yes death penalty has been added. Every time you die within a set time your max health/energy decreases for a temporary time
Great addition, really looking forward to the update. Hats off to the testers and OTM staff who are helping make this game better than ever. Teamwork being required for bosses is going to be quite exciting and will only help strengthen the bond of organized clans and potentially lead to the implosion of others...
