Don't mean to be that guy but Aargorn of Taranis has had easily 70m+ and has the 100% mount from every event including all fashion sets maybe with effect not sure though
even if that's true, the kid sounds like he buys tons of plat

^ This.

Also I wouldn't count plat buying in a gold contest, you should have to earn it.

I think the key to having so much is to be able to sell items worth that much. The only way non-plat players can earn gold is to raid a boss and sell his drops; which is easier on some worlds than others, hence why only a couple Morrig players have replied here. We bank all our drops whereas other worlds have an open market where you can buy sell and trade your raid gear.

And ^^^ 70mil+?? Sheesh...

So it only counts if you spend a multitude of hours in the castle buying and selling or a multitude of hours in the game killing mobs and selling the drops? So what you're saying is sitting on your couch pressing buttons on a video game is more work than going to a job or a profession and buying plat to sell plat items to make gold? Sorry but I fail to see how killing mobs and selling the drops or buying virtual items and selling them is 'earning' gold when going to work as a police officer or a fire fighter or a school teacher or being a CEO of fortune 500 company and using the funds to buy plat isn't 'earning' the gold. You are buying plat items and selling them or in other words, you are buying virtual items and selling them. The difference here is person A goes and spends a ton of money to earn a degree that leads them to a profession that affords them to buy plat that also raises a family and pays taxes vs person B which is a high school kid that has a ton of time to sit on a video game. I'm sorry but your notion of 'earning' is really off. Earning something usually indicates you put effort into it. And there is no effort in sitting on your rear end pressing buttons playing a video game.

You can't take your virtual gold with you to the grave. It doesn't impress family or friends. It won't do you any good if you break down and are stranded on the side of the road. It won't pay your bills. It won't pay your tuition. You can't put it on your resume. It really isn't that big of a deal. Sure, you can trade some stuff off your account for some real life funds if you can find someone buying. But for someone to actually use the words "earn it" when it comes to virtual items and playing a video game and that plat buyers haven't 'earned' is straight insulting to working professionals who actually contribute to society compared to someone that has some weird notion of grandiose about virtual items.

Now before anyone takes offense at my post that it was somehow aimed at high school students or those that spend a lot of time on the game, it wasn't. It was aimed at the notion that someone spending more time playing a game vs actually going to a job in real life to buy plat is somehow less work at making gold in the game. God forbid someone has the luxury of buying plat to make gold. This was a personal gold record thread. If you feel threatened because someone has more gold because they're a plat buyer, then go work more so you can afford to buy plat.

Plat doesn't prove game skill. That's my point.

Anywho, for the op. My record was 20m in gold, not near that now though. I mainly carry my value in items rather then gold.

For fun here is a pic of my top tier mount collection. Worth at least 80m, but 200m+ wouldn't be out of the question.

Buying things for cheaper than you sell them for doesn't require skill. And collecting rare items isn't a skill either. It requires patience and time to hang out in the game.

Now if you told me that you had started with a few stocks in real life and had amassed a lot of real wealth or a powerful portfolio then that would be different.

I average 300k a day when I play, my daily record is 880k when I farmed hard for 12hrs all direct gold no sales to players. I almost never sell drops to players, only npc the for gold drops. Instead I put the items on my multitude of alts to gain more power. I've made 1.5m in a single day selling items but since item sales are so much more work for me than direct gold farming I've all but quit selling drops.

Selling raid drops gets you blacklisted on my world so that may contribute, but it's hard to imagine I would when I can instead make another alt and use them to increase my power.

That's like 20m on most worlds. Carpets and sleds 600k-1m for top tier, dragonstaffs 600k, skimmer 1.2m. Unless those are broom of dooms I'm pretty disappointed in your mount collection lol
All of them are top tier(brooms of dooms, avalanche sleds, sultans carpets etc)

Old mounts are worth quite a bit on lugh, a simple 5% sled can fetch around 300k.
