The idea that pet tokens would get cheaper and more readily available goes out the window when a new pet is introduced.

I've got a rabbit up to 6 and a dog up to 4. Although I'd like to get a 5-6 dog and the bear looks cool, it's not even worth spending the gold to buy tokens or the money to buy plat for chests,.not to mention the lix to raise bear ability to go for a new pet or a higher than lvl 4 dog

Muldar, can I ask if any of the otm staff that plays has a pet and if so what lvl?

If we have to keep getting new pets in order to have the 'best' pet for dps(rather than a different kind of pet with a different kind of ability) in an attempt to make us fork out another 20m or $2000 or £4000 and making the dog outdated I'm legitimately quitting. I don't play to be exploited like that

Don't bother telling me I don't have to buy a new one even if it's better, because if it's better then yes I will have to 'keep up with the jones' as they say. Pets should be graphical not statistical

Make them boost survivability in a different way similar to rabbits or fetch mail from the mailbox like someone else suggested or give us the ability to give it a name or finish quests for us or get quests without needing to go to the npc ourself. Just don't continue on the path you took with dogs making them a DPS necessity or players are going to rebel

Just to address some topics:

As of this moment there are 3 new pets being added to the update, 1 can be gained for free from fishing and the two others are both available from the pet vendor but one being on the bounty board (Token Drop Rate upped)

Whether the pet is better for you or not would be a class question and what would benefit you personally, the new pets may be worse for your class in comparison to older pets (All are permanent)

While I personally would like to see a chop shop implemented there is not one currently in this update but that is not to say it may not come in future.

The beta will give everyone a better understanding of the pets stats and abilities and hopefully clear up any confusion.

I must admit I'm gonna be pretty annoyed if 1 of these new pets is going to be better for my class and I'm just stuck with something I've invested millions on already. Unfortunately this is the kind of thing that makes me, and I'm sure others, not want to bother again in the future.

If everyone had that mind set we would still be stuck in the stone age. Make sure the new bosses drop worse loot than before too

Muldar, how much has the purple tokens drop rate improved? It took me 27 days of doing 12 bounties each of those 27 days (6 each on 2 toons) to get 1 purple token. I (and I'm sure I'm not alone) don't do bounties for the xp. I strictly did them for purple tokens and unless the purple tokens drop rate has been increased exponentially then the time invested in doing bounties for a pet is not worth it.

You're totally missing the point. We want better pets. What we don't want is to spend millions in gold or like in my case millions in gold plus another $600 on plat to buy chests for tokens not to be able to trade up.

Fashion can be vendored. Lux can be vendored for half. I can trade in my car for cash towards a new car.

Now if we say hold onto your tokens because a better pet will come, then when do you know to trade in your tokens?

I was strictly referring to the power and aesthetics of the pets. I know the token drop rate needs improving.

What would be really useful as well would be to combine all abilities into one pet ability like novelty
