Robbo5000 has it right.

If I had to choose between:

Playing the exact same content over and over again for years but being able to "look cool" doing it.

OR

Playing a character which looked exactly like every other character of same class but progressing in new and exciting content every YEAR.

I'll take the latter everytime.

Content includes fashion. You sound very rude, please remember that we are all sat in front of our phone screens playing the same stupid game so that you can drop your attitude. It's easy to try and belittle people for liking fashion, but at least those who collect stamps will not see their items suddenly lose value for no valid reason...
You shouldn't be so naive as to believe that Aeon chests are going to make other content come quicker: what has OTM done this year? Not so much when you think about it... Considering the amount of players who spend thousands on the game, plus those who throw a hundred here and there, OTM has no excuse to take years to come up with features (one by one) which are regularly being asked for. As well as years to respond to players' issues!
Hmm, pot and kettle spring to mind.
So it's OK for you to have an attitude and be rude toward OTM in your post, but heaven help anyone who responds to you in the same manner?
Well there's the cross platform release and there will be the Food of the Gods release and there will be the Corrupted Gardens release, so I think that qualifies as quite a lot, especially for a small indie development company.
I WILL express my opinion negatively when OTM does something wrong to their players. At least there is little chance of me managing to be rude to them directly since they never read player feedback, even though I am far from belittling them like you did with your stamp collectors and train people thing.

Yes I get the excuses of "indie company" and "there will be this and that and all that cool stuff... soon, just be patient!" but meanwhile the clock is ticking and what we are seeing is very slow improvement every year. When many customers pay that much to support a game, they expect better, that's all.

I opened quite a lot of the chests. I got a 85% hog, some rare fashion (e.g. stardust black Glenmor gloves, snowbound yellow frostguard boots, sunbound turq ardmair mask etc) and a load of those seemingly useless instruments and ugly ass charms. I'm a noob, I've been playing this game 1.5 weeks so I'm learning what is valuable and what isn't and I intend to collect so I'll hold onto anything obviously rare and work on getting sets. What I do know is that as a new player opening these chests it means I won't have to worry about restore potions and elixirs and other items that gate you in these kinds of game, for a very long time. If I was a more experienced player, I'm sure I would be fairly vexed with a gazillion red fashion tokens and 500 restoration idol crates.

I love the core game of grinding, farming and teamwork but if I'm honest, it's the customisation possibilities of the character that really drew me in. I love seeing what some of the more experienced players are wearing/using. I play other games and I'm fully aware people generally don't care about the opinions of noobs but I just thought I'd offer the perspective of a new player :)

I love that aspect of the game also, I'm happy new chests came out adding some spice to the game. I hope they continue to try to keep improving with events new content etc. Rime bound chests were not very exciting at all. Now if I can just get past the log screen.......
