Re: Discussion of alternate solutions to target lock

10 second tmer on a boss, afterter the time runs out kill goes to grop that contains person who hit first. if within the time two groups develop it becomes a dps race. non bosses first aggro gets kill. there needs to be some system to prevent power leveling in this instance though
Airrius 225 tank
TheGreenMan 216 druid
Balgair 221 rogue
Velocity 200 rogue
Iolo 225 ranger
Alistar 215 mage

I'm not for or against target lock because I don't think it will effect me much, but this conversation is pretty interesting. Target lock is only really being implemented because lower level casual players are missing out on the content, so they begged for it and they kind of have a point. Higher levels take all the bosses because there's not much else for them to do, its not them being deliberately mean. It would be cool if bosses could switch their drop rate and their spawn frequency. For example a boss that takes 1 day to spawn and drops 3 items will now spawn 3 times a day and drop 1 item. This way we all get to have more fun fighting bosses, yet the economy doesnt change cuz supply is the exact same.

If people could gather their friends and go on long difficult boss runs I think people would play more :D

Also gold would be easier to get for non plat buyers from the increase in bosses, but it still generates revenue for OTM because plat buyers will probably go in small groups looking for a better chance at drop, thus are willing to use some pots and idols.

With high level bosses spawning so much more you will see a lot less 140s and 150s camping Falgren

This is why a 100% target lock is required.

Last night we were camping Falgren and ventus showed up and we attacked
Warrior tank 88
Healing Druid 89
Healing Druid 124
Mage 74

About 15 sec into the fight a rogue 84 jumps in and ksed all of us. All of the arguments on this forum say that your class is what it is, just play your support role and you will do fine. But support classes get ksed by any rogue that has a whim to do so.

It is completely unfair to have one single class monopolize the entire game. You bust your butt making the best of your class and some jerk comes along and wipes you out and then hides behind "it's just healthy competition". It is not competition, it is not fun and it makes people leave the game because it causes drama. A rogue with a bank full of plat can ks anybody they want any time they want with few exceptions. You want competition? That's why OTM spent all that time on PVP which nobody uses. The only people who want competition are the ones who have the game rigged in their favor, rogues, top clans, and very long time players.

I changed my mind, this is it's own thread.

If you're getting ksed by one rogue you should all log so he dies... Otherwise I think a percent lock will be fine. First hit I don't agree with because there will be no comp anymore. As is with a percent lock, all the bosses are going to e camped 24/7 by large clans and small clans will get fewer kills than before
pigman, with the fury of the pigs and the mind of a man
level 210+ rogue
