That other person/group would not have gotten the lock, unless they did at least the appropriate percent of damage on it for their level range, and discounting the lock, they had to do more damage than you did after respawning - so they obviously did more than a single hit.

many people feel that players solo-killing a boss using restos, and other players as pawns while you respawn, is a completely inappropriate and unfair way to play a game. I cannot see any other way a player can Solo kill every 6* boss up to lvl 149 being a char in the 160 lvl range.

So, yes, the fact that you cannot continue doing this must be very annoying...
But imagine how annoying it has been to those other people wanting to get a boss kill in occasionally, but had to just sit around watching one or two players dominate every boss with plat items, and hope those players might sell the drops.

On the plus side, with some small adaptation, this kind of thing shouldn't happen to anyone more than once...

Ok so first of all, the person does not need to do anything more then hit the boss once, or use on spell on either the boss or someone who has any aggro before the person killing it does. Second of all, you do not need plat to kill 6* bosses solo, you need strategy (my sig is out dated). Third, i never sell my drops, i give them away for free and if there are other people there before i arrive at the boss i always help them kill it and let them keep the drops. If anyone asks to group, i group (unless they are a known scammer). And idk what corrupt beta testing has to do with this.

The simple fact remains that target lock creates many more problems then it solves. Make it simple, get the lock at a set damage percentage (20% perhaps) and only reset if the boss resets. Then if the boss resets, the other opposing group (if there is one) will have a chance to kill the boss themselves. If not, the original group is free to try again. Making a set percentage at which the lock is awarded will take away the guess-work and the use of lower levels in a group to gain lock sooner, along many other problems.

Simple and easy, the lock doesnt need to be and shouldnt be as complex as it is now.
1) my point is that - if they come along and hit it once, and you happen to die, you still have the ability to do more damage than them and get the kill

2) someone blamed "corrupt beta testers" for causing all of this

3) you solo bosses, with no elixers, idols or pots?

4) if you gift the drops to the people trying to kill, and are a higher level than the boss, why do you care who gets the kill?

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?

Oh, I didn't realize my question was confusing.

Let me ask again...

IF you kill the boss and gift the drops you catch to other players around you,

WHY do you care if those same people,
-- people who I assume need the drops, since they are at the boss
get the kill and don't have to ask for them?


There must be a reason its annoying... If it isn't the drops, what's the problem?

Well if you have played this game, you'd know these bosses require idols. And sorry what level are you?
Aileron is 170 and never used an exp elixer so yes he has played the game. He also has one of the lowest deth counts of end game tanks in the entire game. He is also chief of one of the most organized clans in the game so yes he plays and is also a veteran of many other mmos.

If your group reset I think it is fine all damage is removed. Whomever is at the boss will then see who gets the next lock or if nobody gets a lock the loot will go to the group who do the most damage (at least thats my experience).

I tend to lean towards target lock should be first hit. I know there is other issues with this but it is the simplest solution that all can understand.
XP should still be based on who do the most damage but loot to whomever have lock.


That being said I think the problem is actually different. The issue is that bosses generally spawn very rarely. If all bosses (old event bosses excepted) spawned every 5 or so minutes then you could go to some boss and kill it as many times as you wanted. If someone was at that boss then choose another. Obviously loot tables would need to be changed to not flood the game with drops.
I just dont understand why a game where you have to camp/wait endlessly for something to spawn is a good design.
There are maybe other solutions to this waiting endlessly issue. Cant think of any right now. For sure it is annoying loosing the loot when you feel you do the greater effort.

I'm assuming he is helping the lower levels be able to kill the boss and has to fight with top clans who like to farm the bosses and overcharge noobs for the drops.
