Weapon damage Q

Hi all:
I have a feeling this is a stupid question, but be nice to me anyway!
What does it mean when a weapon has two kinds of damage? So if a mace has both crushing damage and slashing damage, how is the overall damage calculated? Are they just added together? I feel like that's not right...

i actually have the same question. I killed the avatar of donn and got a Brutal Flanged Mace and it has 25 slashing damage and 32 crushing. I had never learned the ability BLUNT so i kept missing over and over and over which i didint undestand because if it was part slashing why wasnt my ability slashing kicking in? I finnaly lerned blunt and am a bit more accurate now but barley on 62 but my sword is 450/460 soooo idk y it wontwork isint sword PART od slashing? anyways i dont notice much diffrence between my Fire Falchion and my Brutal Flanged Mace.

Hi there
Each damage is applied seperatly - so if you have piercing and slashing damage on a weapon, they are calculated seperately against the enemies crushing and slashing damage.
The actual number total is just added up for displaying the damage so that you are not spammed with 100's of numbers.
The type of weapon governs your ability to hit - so for example if you are using a sword then having the sword skill will help you to hit, if you are using a mace then the blunt skill will help. The damage type itself doesn't affect your chance to hit.

So let me get this straight. Every normal weapon say has 30-50 dmg and now there is sone rare drop that is 2x better than any other weapon?! Who is making this loot? All game ive been finding slightly better wpns and all of a sudden u can find one of these and double your dps. That is outrageous.

this weapon is curently bugged it should read 5 crushing dmg not 54. so beware to not overspend on it when buying one

Hi there. Yes there were a couple of weapons with some incorrectly displayed stats which will display the correct values when the next update comes out. Beware if anyone tries to sell you one of those as they will just do normal damage!

Is there a list of the weapons with false stats somewhere? Is the brutal flanged mace one of them?

I think there were 4 or 5 incorrectly marked weapons out of several thousand items. They was the 65 damage offhand dagger, and anything that has almost as much secondary damage stat as the main weapon damage, if in doubt please ask and I'll be happy to check!
These will all be correctly marked in the update, sorry for the trouble with this.
