For those of us who either submitted pictures or are just curious, what is going on with the contest results?

Someone asked about this a while ago, so I'll copy/paste my answer from then here.
Hi everyone,

Apologies for how long it's taken me to get around to this.

Unfortunately, there will be no more winners announced for the Screenshot Competition.

As I said in the original competition post, there are some very strict guidelines as to what kinds of images we can use on the Celtic Heroes App Store page. I'm afraid that there were no pictures in this competition that met all of the guidelines, and as such we were unable to use any of the images for the iTunes page.

I'm very sorry that it has turned out this way. I would have loved to use some of your screenshots on the App Store page, but unfortunately we're not able to do that.

Hopefully we'll be running another screenshot competition soon, and I'll make sure there are more prizes available so that more people have a chance to win.

Again, I apologise for the length of time it's taken to respond to this, and I'm sorry that we are unable to announce any more winners.

Thanks!

Hello,

could I ask what the most common unmet guideline was?

Thanks! :)

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the guidelines. If I was able to I would, but in this case I really can't say much about it I'm afraid.

That's fine, but I don't quite understand why you can't disclose any information. By no means do I want to pressure you, but is it against the Apple Terms and Conditions; against One Thumb Mobile's policy; against any other policy? :)

I don't want to sound rude: you don't need to say anything if you don't want to, but I'm an inquisitive person :geek:

If you can't disclose the guidelines, then how would people know to submit screenshots that would meet the guidelines so you can use them? Seems like a self-defeating policy to me.

Thank you for updating me. It is disappointing that thefruits of this community's hardwork will go unused, but understand this was aniTunes decision.

However, because not one person met the criteria with any of their pictures, it seems logical that the there was a problem in the explaining of the instructions, whether on your end to us, or iTunes end to you.

Just because none of our pictures were useable by iTunes, does that mean you cannot use any on the website?

I still think it would mean a lot to still reward your community who took time and energy to capture and upload screenshots for you. Just because iTunes did not accept any doesn't mean you cannot say thanks to those who participated with in-game items of appreciation.

When the competition was announced some general guidelines were provided as to what kind of pictures would be good for the iTunes categories. However, I can't provide the actual guidelines we used for each picture as they are something I simply cannot disclose. It is entirely possible that the guidelines provided were too general, and if we hold a similar competition we will review them before posting it.

Because no picture was chosen for the iTunes, every single picture that was submitted was considered for the Community Favourite category, and from all the images that were submitted 10 were chosen as the shortlist. This shortlist of 10 images has since been posted on the Celtic Heroes website (http://www.onethumbmobile.com/celticher ... creenshot/) and also on the Celtic Heroes Facebook page in its own album, therefore showcasing the efforts of the community. The competition topic is also still available to find on the forums; it hasn't been deleted, simply moved into the General Discussion forum.

As I mentioned in the original topic, if/when we have another screenshot competition I'll make sure there are more prizes available so people have a greater chance of winning something. I'm sorry that none of the pictures were able to be used, there was a huge number of fantastic entries and I would have loved to have used them all to promote the game, but unfortunately in this instance I wasn't able to.
